If you lift the foot of the bed, you will have storage. Look for a hole on the near edge of the foot to lift the secondary floor panel. In here you will have access to the motor, wires and guide rails for the slide. Depending on what you need in this area (troubleshooting), keep in mind you should have 12VDC unless the battery disconnect is off/open.
I forget if that one is electric or hyd. electric...crank handle on the opposite side ( should be a hole in the skirt there) hyd should have a pump handle there at the pump.
I can only assume this is an RV you are talking about. No there should not be slack. I would start by finding the manual slide out mechanism. It will be a hand crank type or unit. Manually slide the kitchen unit out and then try to slide it back in with the button. That will either bring it all the way back in or you can see that the motor is bad or the limits are off.
check the limiting micro switches that stop power and operation when the limit is reached ( there is one for in and one for out )
it is possible that wire has become disconnected or a switch is faulty
Check to ensure that it's not the cabinets or the frame they are mounted on that hasn't warped or shifted. If the camper is a 2015 take that puppy back to the dealership and have them do it. There shouldn't be a charge, especially if the issue is a broken or damaged part that is still under warranty!
Could mean anything since there aren't any standardized labeling procedures. Do you have two slides on the right (passenger or curb) side of the coach? It may be the forward slide on that side or it could be all of the lights on the forward right side. Turn everything on in the coach that is 12v then pull the fuse and see what stops working.
