Have you checked the carb boots for cracks?
the fuel screw under the block off plug? Remove the plug and set the fuel screw to 2 to 2.5 turns and hopefully you'll see a difference on starting, warming up and idling in the cold.
I got 1997 yamaha G16
Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
The new carb. fuel mixture adjustment screw should be very close to the setting needed to operate the engine normally. You should not have to move the screw more than 1/8 th turn in either direction from the current ORIGINAL setting.
You mentioned the engine smokes really bad. Several things cause a smoking engine:
1. Older engine
a. Piston oil rings stuck to the piston skirt or rings worn out
b. Piston wear
c. Cylinder wear
d. Valve stem and valve guide wear
e. Valve head and valve seat wear.
f. Crankcase breather clogged
g. Overserviced engine oil.
Perform a compression test on the engine. You should have a minimum of 120 PSI pressure. The higher the pressure the better. If the cylinder compression is under 110 PSI the engine needs some serious maintenance.
I can not emphasize enough that the new carb needing any major adjustments is a symptom of other problems within the engine. Like I mentioned earlier if you have to make a fuel mixture adjust more than 1/8 th turn in any direction from the original setting something else is wrong.
IF by chance someone got over anxious and has moved the fuel mixture screw start at 1.5 turns from just barely closed. I am surprized that the new carb did not come with a plastic cap over the mixture screw.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

My yamaha 80cc motorcycle runs
Hi, if it starts again after a litle wile ,then you must have a petrol level inside the carburator tha is to low. in the fuel chamber you find a buoy that controls the amount of petrol coming into the carburator. If this level is to low you just run out of fuel after a fast ride.
Also you must check that your gas tank "breathes" so air can go in as fuel comes out, otherwise it will stop fuel from running due to a vacuum process.
Good luck

Do u need to replace
No. If the original ball joint was rivieted, you will need to cut the rivets to remove it. The replacements will use bolts to fasten them.

My pw 80 has white
Yes a pw 80 is a two stroke engine, it uses two stroke oil to lubricate the engine, it enters by means of the inlet, mixed with the fuel and air, then once ignited it attomises to form a mist and lubricates the internals of the engine, the lubrication system of a two stroke is known as a total waste system, the oil goes in, lubricates, and leavs in the form of smoke, the smoke will be more noticable when the choke is applied, the problem would be severe if no smoke was visible, exsess smoke may suggest the exhaust, port, or silencer needs de cokeing, this would require removal of the exhaust and manualy remove obstructions, loss of power could be associated with this, good luck paul

We have a yamaha mx
Not knowing the year of your bike, I would suggest the following;
Remove the float bowl and
clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective
goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways
and fittings in the carb. Remove the idle screw and
the air screw on the outside throat of the carb and spray into the screw holes as well.
>
Be sure to put these two screws back in the same hole they came out of.
IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two adjusters down. Only screw these in
until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each adjuster one and one half turns outward.
Put the rest of the carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start
the engine. Before putting the slide back in the throat of the carb, move the clip on the jet needle one notch lower.
Please rate my answer. Thanks!

I have a waverunner (1996)
It will probably be OK but if unsure pull the plugs out and spin the engine over, this will show if water has entered.
Do this with the kill button off so the ignition wont be damaged

Most major manufacturers supply manuals
online so if you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, you
may be pleasantly surprised as usually, if available, one is able to
download, by model number, Customer
Instruction Manuals, Dealer
Network for spare part supplies as
required.
The information is normally free of
charge.
I hope this helps.

Hi,50 cc aerox yamaha,will start
Chances are the battery will need to be replaced. It went dead for a reason and if the reason wasn't because the key was left on, then old age, ( over one and one half years old or more ), or an internal short in the battery is what has killed it. Re-clean the carb and pay special attention to the main jet. The factory setting is one and one-half turns open from a
lightly seated position. Look in the end of the carb. Does the slide lift when the throttle is twisted? Put the jet needle positioning clip in the middle notch of the jet needle. Clean the air filter. Please rate my answer. Thanks!

I have a 50cc 2002
Hello, try checking the tyre pressures. A low pressure tyre will cause the bike to wobble, especially on the front. Another thing to check is the tyre itself, check for bumps and flat spots. All of these things can cause wobble. One more thing is the front forks, if the oil is low in them, that can also create problems. I hope that helps.

Hiya my son has a
There will be a fuel line running from the gas tank to the carb. The carb will have a cable connected to the twist grip on the handle bar. On most bikes the carb is found on the top - back side of the cylinder. Also clean the air filter connected to the back of the carb and install a new spark plug.

I have a new batiere
Check fuses. Get a new spark plug then check for spark by hooking up the plug wire then hold the metal side of the plug against the cylinder. Have a friend kick the engine over while you look for spark. Remove the carb, then remove the float bowl from the bottom of the carb. Use spray carb cleaner to clean the carb. How old is the gas? Flush the tank and fill with fresh fuel if old gas is present. Please rate my answer. Thanks.
