Have a 2002 125rs aprillia while riding it it wudn go over 40mph then lost all revs now wont fire up when trying to start it it sounds as if i tryn to turn over but wont fire up

Hi, you need to first determine if the problem is ignition or fuel related. Spray some starting fluid into the air filter inlet then try to start it. You need to open the throttle 1/4 to 1/2 open. If the engine fires for a few seconds, you have a fuel delivery problem. If the engine does not fire at all, you'll need to verify you have no spark. Then you'll know it's an electrical/ignition problem.

sidestand lockout switch is sticking...bike thinks that you're trying to ride away with the stand down so it kills the sparks.

Just bought Aprillia mx 125 2006 and had the same issue. Today carb came off and cleaned in petrol then air lined the jets. Whilst carb off have a look at the reed valves, clean also. I removed the SAS valve and uprated air filter and check your rave valve cable and solinoid. She runs great cant wait to get arrow exhaust now. hello mate ive had the same problem and bizzarly it turnt out to be that i needed a new spark plug i have just give some1 on this site this information and it turnt out to be the same problem its worth try

Hi, Sounds like a sticky float valve in one or more of the carbs. When sitting, the carb overfills causing the revving when you start it, then it dies cause the carb isn't filling. Also check the exup valve in the intake, it could also cause the exact same symptoms but because of too much back pressure once it starts. Good Luck to you, hope this helps Fixya!

dear hard to start first thing to do is to install a new plug and second make sure your choke system is working. you could try to prim the engine by squirting fuel in spark plug hole if fires up right away you have choke problem. that would mean a carb cleaning.
