Start buttons seldom fail, but door switches fail often.
Have someone good at this open the lid and bypass the door switch, it should start fine.
Door switches can be bought at Amazon or "Sears Parts Direct" or e-bay.
God bless your efforts.

whirlpool electric dryer will not start when you push start button. Model No. LER5634AW0. There is power to the dryer. The door switch appears to be working,(didn't check it with a meter). I push the start button, run it through all the cycles and still nothing. Are there any resets or circuit breakers that I could check? Where do I go from here?
Make sure there is 240vac then check the door switch, the start switch. Beyond the obviouse it is basic troubleshooting to work down to the failed component. Eric
