If it's the primary case you want to fill you undo the small oval plate on the left side of the engine and fill it until it's level with the bottom of the plate hole.
Your transmission came with H-D Syn3 20W50 synthetic engine oil in it. There are many other oils on the market that you can use. I'd suggest that you go to their website and check their recommendations.
Your bike came from the factory with H-D 20W50 Syn3 engine oil in the engine, primary case, and the transmission. There are other oils available such as Amsoil, Mobil, Royal Purple and many more. Check their websites for compatibilty.
On the earlier dressers (Evolution engines), the oil tank is on the bottom of the transmission. If you look underneath the transmission, you'll see two drain plugs. The one closest to the left side of the bike is the engine oil drain, the one in the center is the transmission drain.
Ride bike to warm the oil up and then remove the drain plug. Let old oil drain out. Remove and replace oil filter, simply screw the old one off and screw the new one on. This is a messy job. Oil goes everywhere. I cut a plastic milk jug so it will fit around the bottom side of the filter to catch most of the oil.
Refill oil tank with the prescribed amount of oil, on that bike, I think that's four quarts. Pour in three and check the level, if still low, add the last quart. I think they bike came with H-D Syn3 from the factory.
