Hi. I believe the selonoid on the starter maybe the problem. If you can bench test the motor to check if it runs. Replace the selonoid and see. Good luck.

How to replace solenoid on Kawasaki FX801V

I replaced my 29hp fk801v Kawasaki on my lzz29ka606 exmark laser z mower today I am having trouble with the ignition wiring
As so as I turn the key from off to on [not in start position] the starter starts to crank the engine over a think I might have it wired wrong or maybe a bad relay the reason I had to change the engine was because it looks like something locked up in the engine and caused the starter housing to grenade just wondering if the starter running may have caused it to happen hope someone can help out thanks yal be safe

Runs great but wont start with starter have to push start.Just put in a starter relay not it

Short across the starter relay and see if it starts. If it still clicks then I would suspect the starter motor itself. Careful with the short as too long will burn out the wires. A screwdriver touching the 2 bolt connectors momentarily is enough to check this out. All this assumes a good battery with full voltage. Low voltage/poor battery condition can be the cause of a lot of problems.

1999 Kawasaki ZX-9R Ninja will not turn over

Test the battery, bike batteries can and do just go open and dead all of a sudden, have been stranded more than once, filled with gas and then no start nothing, no lights nothing.

Help my baby wont start. just getting a clicking noise from the relay. lights work battery is fine. fuses changed. volted the selenoid and starter and there is power going through. Im thinking its the...

If everything is on and all voltages are proper at the proper time, all that is left is the starter motor. If it is as you say, the engine must be removed to do it, you may want to talk to the service manager at your Kawasaky shop. This is not a job for the faint of heart, and it does require special skills, tools and knowledge.

Kawasaki eliminator dont star any noise starter, when im push star botton

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, if the problem is that the starter motor will not turn when the start button is pressed, determine if there is a clicking sound:
  • if there is, then the starter relay is activating but not engaging. To confirm, temporarily short the 2 big terminals of the starter relay. The starter motor should turn;
  • to locate the starter relay, follow the battery's + cable;
  • if starter motor will not turn even when the relay's terminals are jumped, the faulty starter motor most likely the carbon brushes and/or the commutator segments;
  • if the starter motor spins when terminals jumped, then the starter relay is faulty;
  • if there is no clicking sound, try with the clutch lever pulled in and/or the side stand folded up;
  • check the neutral switch / light.
Postback results of above tests.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.
