Hi, Jsbandit3 for this scenario you will need your service manual that has all fastener torque specs and a wiring diagram on the back pages, parts fiche, and owners manual if you can't find the best tool you ever bought for your Kawasaki, despair not, for a mere zero $0 you can download another one.

SOURCE: replaced clutch spring now the

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

Two things... If you have a cable type clutch then the problem will surely be on the clutch cable. If it's worn out it tends not to engage. If you have a fluid type clutch, I suggest that you have the system bleed to flush out air and this can resolve the problem.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Need radator for kawasaki vn 1500 classic tourer 2001 is the driffter the same radator as the vn 1500 classic plz hellllllllllllp

TO ALL VN1500 OWNERS....This once happen to me,
I went to the garage to start the bike "Nothing ""The first thing is the lights are bright but no turning over,Next you think the solenoid is kaput but the answer was very simple and the fix takes 30 seconds..
Do not take the bike to bits looking for other problems and look at the clutch leaver and you will see some wires going into a plastic shroud going into the switch in the clutch leaver, Make sure this has not popped out if its connection as it some times may do after a few years due to constant turning on the handlebars,
When this is not connected you will have a bike that will not fire up but comes alive and you will hear a clicking noise but this is from the engine carb area and every function of the bike will work but it will not turn over, Worth looking at and saves sixteen quid for a starter unit you never needed.

Bike runs great but once I accerate at highway speeds it really revs high but it slowly gets up there. I am thinking it might be a clutch or spring issue. Who has some advise on this..

check your clutch lever maybe your to tight if the clearance is good then change your clutch. check all clutch spring, clutch bush and pressure disc plate if there is burn or scratch.

WHEN TAKING OFF, MOTORCYCLE WILL NOT MOVE AFTER INGAGING CLUTCH LEVER!

2000 VN 1500 Vulcan has a good clutch system, a little dodgy but a good system. You may want to diagnose the issue first to check if it is just the level and the cable or the clutch line itself that needs to be taken care of.

First, loosen up the cable that the clutch lever will go halfway first before you feel the spring of the clutch kicking in. If this still did not give you drive, this means that you need to have your clutch checked as it may be worn out or the clutch wheel is broken that the release bearing no longer pushes the plate to the transmission.

2001 kawasaki vulcan 1500 will not go into gear

You have found the problem, that saucer spring acts just like the pressure plate on the clutch of a standard transmission on a car. I had to replace one, and it was about $35.00. Good luck

Just replaced clutch spring on '01 vulcan 1500 classic fi and used mean streak spring per instructions on gadgets help page, put it all back together. Now the clutch won't engage even after bleeding, what...

assuming it was reinstalled properly....try the following. while bleeding the system, squeeze the clutch lever several times to pump up the system as normal; open the bleed screw while holding the clutch lever in and air or fluid comes out. instead of closing the bleed screw hold your finger over the bleed screw and pump up the clutch lever in the normal fashon and bleed by releasing your finger to let the air escape try this several times to see if your clutch comes back. I don't know why but this technique works sometimes...Mike...Make sure you always have plenty of fluid in the resivoir at all times

Clutch slipping while cold, when warm/hot, it operates great.

I have a 2000 Vulcan Nomad FI & had a very similar problem. In fact, it's a very common problem with these bikes. I fixed it by replacing the Clutch Spring. (As Described here: http://www.gadgetjq.com/clutch_spring_replacement.htm

It cost me $40 and 3 hours of time with an impact wrench.
