My 2001 yahama vstar 1100 the oil light is comeing on but its full oil and runs great if u give it hard acceleration it goes off for 5 minutes or so and comes back on

Just install a remote filter relocator,it moves the filter outside the motor to the frt of the bike,becomes a screw on filter. There is a couple of companys making the kit,you can find them in a parts unlimited catologe.

You will most likely find that your Air Cleaner element is blocked & possibly may have sucked up some leaves reducing air flow.

the light comes on when the oil is low about 300-500cc

SOURCE: Removal of motorcycle rear tire/shaft driven

The final drive assembly has to be unbolted from the swingarm and it is removed with the rear wheel. Once the assembly is off the bike, the axle can be removed and the final drive separated from the wheel.
