Question about 2002 kawasaki VN 1500 Vulcan Classic
Where do I check the coolant level on my Vulcan classic and can I add regular coolant? @
Hi, Stog9263 for this scenario you will need your service manual that has all fastener torque specs and a wiring diagram on the back pages, parts fiche, and owners manual if you can't find the best tool you ever bought for your Kawasaki, despair not, for a mere zero $0 you can download another one.

I believe on this model, that you have to remove the instrument display that is on the tank. There should be one 8mm bolt in the center of the chrome housing. Remove the bolt, then push the housing forward towards the handlebars. After removing the housing, you should see a small reservior with what looks like a radiator cap on it. There should also be an overflow tank located bottom center of the bike. It should have a sight glass on it to see the fluid level.

Remove the instrument cluster located on the gas tank. There should be one 8mm bolt in the center holing it on. After removing the bolt, gently push the housing forward. Underneath you will see a small reservior with a radiator cap on it.

on my 1999 vn 800 the site glass is just under the kick stand..you will need some one to hold the bike level while you look at the oil level or stand it next to a wall or something to check the level, they are the same up to the 2005 models..
