Hi, I have a 1982 kawasaki kz440 LTD with 25k miles on the body and an unknown amount of miles on the motor, the guy I bought it from replaced it. I have just recently gotten into motorcycles so I don't know too much. Anyways recently as I was riding down the highway my bike lost almost all of its power, like it was running out of gas almost, and then made a noise, as if a rod or something broke off and was beating around inside the engine. I pulled over to the side of the road and turned off the cycle right away. I started it up about 5 mins later and as ti sat at idle it sounded normal. So I slowly rev'd the engine up and when it got to about 5k rpm I could hear it again, the noise of something beating around inside, so I shut it off and its sitting in my garage. Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like internal engine damage. what is the oil level, condition?
sounds as though maybe loosing oil pressure or flow. have you tried to change oil and filter? filters might be clogging up.

Looking for n new part 1982 Kawasaki GT750 Speedometer Tachometer Instrument Gauge Cluster

You can try e-bay or swap meets.( https://picclick.com/eBay-Motors/Parts-Accessories/Motorcycle-Parts/Instruments-Gauges/Instrument-Clusters/?page=16)
You also might try a motorcycle salvage yard if there is one near you. Many after market clusters will work too. You might check your local sites such as craigslist or cycle trader. I have an '82 kz440 that is mostly parts culled from other bikes and switches, etc. from radio shack lol

I have a 1981 kawasaki kz440 ltd and I need a voltage regulator. I need to find the part number or best place to get the part from and a diagram for the wiring or replacement of the regulator.

Babbitt's looks like they have the regulator. I hope your regulator is the lower priced one. Aside from that, Google " motorcycle salvage yamaha " and see what you can find. Be sure the salvage yard gives you one matching your original one. The 2 extra wires on the high priced unit should be color coded. Please rate my answer. Thanks.
