Either the pickup coil is bad (triggers the coils) or maybe the ground is bad .
Or maybe they are both bad at the same time. Also check the ignition switch.Remove the ignition switch wiring harness out.Disconnect the wires, then clean them and reconnect and then check voltage to the wires, if all is perfect, then try to start, it will give spark, if still no spark and coils are new and replaced, then its short in ignition switch issue.Check the ignition switch wires, any of the wire is crimped/pinched and got cut in between or got loose from its connection.--------------Or its a bad ground issue.-------
This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.
Yes, new switch will confirm the problem. And as per tests, the pick up coil checks ok.but switch can be the issue, get it checked by new switch.--------
This should help.Keep updated with results.thanks.Helpmech.
Ok.Thanks.
Try spraying starter fluid on the intake and check. Is it running with starter fluid. If it starts and runs then its fuel line issue.Get the compression test done on each coils. The reading on all cylinder should be same.If it differs then it can be the issue.Get the test done at local garage. The ignition cylinder compression test.-- Checkout.Keep updated.Thanks.Helpmech.

First you must find out if you really have the spark at the sparkplugs: take them out of the cylinders, keep them attached to their leads then secure them with a piece of wire to the engine block to have them grounded. Now turn the key and look at them - do you see the spark? If not then either the plugs or the leads have failed - check that by removing the plug cap and holding the connector close to the engine block while turning the motor (use a long piece of wood for that, it shocks pretty badly).
If you have spark then the fuel is missing. Disconnect the ignition and turn the motor for 10 seconds 3 times. Now take out the sparkplugs - if fuel goes in the cylinder they should be wet and at the exhaust you should smell the gas. If it's not then something is wrong with the fuel pump you will need to check and most likely replace it. Here it is

If there is no spark at all then the CDI unit has failed and it will have to be replaced.http://www.cheapcycleparts.com/products/...

Usually answered in minutes!
yes I know this ,have already done this no spark checked plugs they are ok fuel is fine and not the issue I have no spark that is my issue
no spark fuel is fine
as in notes new cdi already fitted
new cdi
new coils
power ok to coils
have tried a new dyna cdi it has led on it shows ignition when turned on at ignition switch and when motor spins shows pulse and fuel pump works so if the pickup coil is bad I assume this would not happen ?
everything works as it should lights etc with ignition switch and have checked and cleaned all earths I am at a loss should I get a new switch anyway ?
will get one and get back to you later thanks
switch arrived today still the same what can we do now alan
not this no spark compression is fine fuel is fine
do you know how to bypass system as have seen this on 750 with a relay do not know if can be done on 1500
