WITH THE ENGINE TURNED OFF, open the hood and watch the engagement cable. engage mower lever and then disengage the switch sounds happy, possibly the cable is starting to seize up
you need to take the clutch cover off and inside you will find a small shaft going up to your clutch lever. If that lever is broken you will have to replace that shaft. If the clutch shaft checks out check your cable that could be broken. If it is then replace and adjust and you are good to go. Good luck on the bike
I looked up your bike and i belive that your bike has a cable clutch on it and not a hydrolic. So on your clutch lever there will be a bolt that goes into the the lever and a securing nut where the cable goes into the lever. If you unscrew your bolt the clutch get tighter and if you scew the bolt in the clutch gets looser. You should try to lubricate the cable and clutch. If it has been sitting for to long it may just be getting stuck. make sure that your clutch lever snaps back into possition. Your clutch lever has to have some play in it because if it is set really tight you will start to engage the clutch. If it is to loose then you wont be able to engage the clutch. You want about 6-10mm of play from the end of the handle bars to end of lever. So it will move that far before it will engage at all. This is a factory setting you may tighten or loosen depending on your riding style but remember the consiquences of what you are doing. if this is how your bike is set up then it is probalby your clutch plates. I hope this has helped you if you have any questions about any step just shoot me an email anytime. Good luck A.J. Weaver
The clutch lever should have some tension, so could be a problem with the hydraulic actuator stuck, or a failure of the clutch. try bleeding the clutch, or pull the clutch cover off and see if the pressure plate moves
I think you mean that the clutch has a broken cable and it is constantly engaged. The clutch dis-engages from the gear box when the clutch lever is pulled in. The push lever axle (I think this is what you are calling the main shaft) sits in a hole on the side cover. The gear on the axle engages the push rod and the push rod separates the clutch plates by pushing on the pressure plate to dis -engage the transmission. If the axle shaft is loose, check the lock bolt. Also check the cover plate. Is the casing cracked or broken at the mounting point?
If you are calling the push rod "the main shaft", then some movement is normal when the clutch is engaged as would happen with a broken cable. Please rate my answer. Thanks.
if it is in gear for sure and it doesnt move even with the clutch engaged maybe you are missing a piece inside the clutch like the clutch boss spring. or possibly your plates are worn so much they wont hook up. or you are using a very poor grade of oil. Dont take my absolute word for all these solutions but these may lead to some problems like that.
No permanent solution, but you probably can get by once by "riding" the clutch engagement lever - pushing it only part way forward and holding onto it.
