How do I adjust the timing chain on 2002 yamaha vstar 1100 classic? It`s popping alot and dying down when trottled.

The timing chain most likely adjusts itself( I am not certain) however a loose chain will cause an engine rattle, but is not the cause of popping and dying.
try cleaning the fuel system, new spark plugs, new air cleaner

My bike is a 2001 1100 v star that seems to be eating batteries all of a sudden. I was on a ride 2 moths ago and the bike started skipping under a load and when I stopped to check it out it shut off and...

My initial thought is you haved a faulty voltage regulator. You should be charging at about 15 volts, but when your battery gets charged, the voltage regulator should turn the charge system off.

Your battery is hot ... you are over charging.

Im sorry, I dont know where your regulator is located.

I hoped you find some value in this comment.

Charging system can't keep up with lights 2001 v-star 1100 classi

Hi Dalemcin,
I had simillar problem,
what I did is I checked the level of fluid in battery and noted that it was drain ( probably evaporated, because the weather temp. where I live is above 40 C) so I replenished the battery with destilled water. Now it works perfect.

Routine maint.

yes its actually easier then doing maint on a car bc u can get to every thign alot easier the maitenace is really basic like checking the tire pressure, changing oil and filter, checking the air filter, checking fuel filter if it has one??,and oiling the chain, checking all lights, checking the license plate tags, and make sure if u dont ride it for a long time like say winter buy a battery maintainer from ebay to save u from having a dead battery in the summer its well worth the money

Bike not charging

Sounds like regulator/rectifier, stator, or charging rotor.
