If you race this bike then I would suggest at the end of every full race meet dump the oil and filter as apart of the clean down to put away for next race day routine obviously fill it back up when due to race next
If your just recreational use and not going on the rev limiter all day long then about every 2 - 4 hours of running time would be OK
simple rule of thumb with the four stroke Motocross bikes if you love the bike and you can afford it change the oil as much as possible you cannot change to often in my opinion (just don't over tighten the sump plug just nipped up is fine)
cheers mate happy riding

How much horse power does A 1998 kawasaki kx 250 have

There is reputed and there is actual horsepower!
A reputed 52.5 Hp for the 1990 is not right.
A reputed 57.5 Hp for the 2007 maybe right...at the crank.
You lose 8%-10% at the wheel, 5% more with an O-ring chain.
Standard KX250 would be around 42-45 Hp in peak condition. Intake mods, jets, expansion chamber and some porting changes may give you more but it's give and take...you will lose bottom or mid-range and tractibility will go out the window with a very peaky motor. Computer search KX250 forums and canvas the responses and also look for generic KX250 link's.
Cheers.

I have a 1989 KX250 that sometimes hangs in gear. When started in neutral, I pull in the clutch and shift to first and it jumps and dies like the clutch was not pulled in. After rocking the bike with the...

If the clutch lever is properly adjusted, this is normally what happens if the gearbox oil is extremely dirty. Do and oil change then ride for 30 minutes. Then change the oil again to help flush out the dirt. If that doesn't help, then the clutch pressure plates are warped or the cork on the fiber friction plates is swollen from using synthetic lubricants in the gearbox. Check the plates and replace as needed.

Fork oil 1987 KX250.

G,Day back. Not sure about how much oil to put in the forks but may be able to help you stop the leak.Get a film negitave from a camera.Like the ones that come in the developed packet.Cut the notched section off the side of it.Trim one end at 45%.Now slide this into the fork seal and with a sawing action, move it all the way around the seal. When you get the feel of it,you will be able to feel bits of dirt in the seal. When you do,pull it out and the dirt will come with it.Do this a few times. This will work if the seal are not cactus and is cheaper than a rebuild.Hope this is of some help.

Break in for rebuilt lower end kx250 2 stroke

Break in is just riding the bike easy for an hour, shifting through the gears w/o high revs. Now go out to the woods and have fun. Change gearbox oil after about 20 hours of riding to remove metal contaminates from the full break in.

Top rating due on this answer! Thanks arenacross91!

Kx 2500

A KX 250 is a 2-Stroke therefore it gets its oil by the gas/oil mixture.
