2007 yumbo. I need a speedometer sensor and bolt for front wheel. Where can I order these parts from?

The sensor is at rear of the wheel hub, it is sold separately.

Speedometer Cable Replacement
Take out the engine cover and doghouse to remove the speedometer cable from your car. Take out the bolt from under the dashboard, so that you can easily access the old speedometer cable. Also remove the nut on the rotating shaft and pull the speedometer cable out through the passage. Remove the clamps present on the transmission and engine compartment.

Once you have removed the old speedometer cable from your car, you need to replace it with a new one. In the adapter, fix the square end of the new cable and also tighten the nut on the rotating shaft. Pass the new cable through the passage and tighten the bolt at its rear end. This end should be fixed at the speedometer's square hold. Fix back the clamps you earlier removed and also put back the engine cover.

Speed Sensor Replacement for Front Wheel Drive Vehicles
You will find the speed sensor behind the engine above the trans-axle. Take out the connecting hose, air cleaner and electrical connector from above the sensor. With help of a 10 mm socket, take out bolts keeping the sensor in place. Simply twist the sensor to take it out. Fix the new sensor in place and tighten bolts around it. Attach back the hose, air cleaner and the electrical connector on to the sensor.

Speed Sensor Replacement for Rear Wheel Drive Vehicles
You will find the speed sensor on the driver's side behind the transmission. Raise the vehicle up from the driver's side and put a jack stand below to hold it there. Disconnect electrical connectors present on the sensor and take out bolts keeping the sensor in place, using a socket. Take out the sensor carefully and fix a new one in its place. Attach the electrical connector to it and tighten it.

Not every speedometer not working problem needs a replacement job. It depends on the cause. In case the dial is the problem, you can easily replace it alone. Problems with the little computer reading sensor signals call for the computer to be replaced. It is therefore important for you to take your car to a car mechanic and diagnose the predicament, before jumping onto any conclusions and trying to solve it yourself.

There is a magnetic speedometer sensor at the front wheel that is easily and often broken if not aligned property. Replacing that magnetic sensor should cure it.

Also, there is a wiring harness under the speedometer. Remove the 3 bolts holding on the speedometer, and carefully lift it up and check to make sure the harness is plugged together tightly.

The speedometer sensor is located on the top of the transmission. It is held on by one bolt. Remove the bolt and gently pull and turn the speedometer sensor and the whole assembly will come out of your transmission.


Park your Honda Prelude on a level surface, activate the emergency brake and place blocks behind the back tires for safety. Disconnect the negative battery cable with a terminal puller.

Raise the vehicle on the side of the wheel speed sensor's location. Remove the wheel and tire assemblies.

Disconnect the sensor electrical connection from the wiring harness.

Take note of the connection location for the sensor retainers, grommets and clips. You will need to know this information for the installation process.

Start at the connector end of the sensor cable and remove grommets, clips and retainers in order to free the harness.

Unscrew the sensor mounting bolt and remove the sensor from the differential housing.

Install the new speed sensor by reversing the removal process. Loosely secure the sensor and sensor harness connection in place, taking precaution to keep the harness from twisting or bending. Once in place, torque the sensor mounting bolt to 16 foot pounds (22 Nm). Tighten any bracket bolts to 84 inch pounds (10 Nm).

Lower the vehicle safely and reconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to your owner's manual to perform an ABS system check to confirm that you installed the sensor properly.

there are two parts to register to your speedometer. the first part is the speed rotor, that's is located behind the front sprocket cover. it is held on to the front sprocket by the allen head bolt. the second part is the speed sensor, that's the part held on to the front sprocket cover with a 4mm allen head bolt. speed rotor is about $15, try that first since it's cheaper. then about $85 if the speed rotor didn't fix the problem.

you need a speedo cable the cable normally goes to the front wheel on driverside and the other end goes to the transmission it bolts to the wheel and the transmission as well

i can answer part of your question. the front wheel speed sensors are for abs and trac control only. these will not affect the speedo your problem is some where else. sorry i have not had this prob yet good luck. you could have to replace the rear wheel speed sensor again. they are not that good. and after market are even worse.
