G'day,
I have a suggestion.
It worked with no airbox( airbox lid I guess you mean).
Then I would think that your problem would almost certainly be a blockage or restriction to the air flow entering the airbox intake.
Look in the airbox, with the lid off-And see where the air enters the box- the air ducts on each side.
Make sure these are clear of any obstruction.
Check the air intake vent in the front of the fearing for obstructions.
I feel pritty sure you'll find your problem here(I hope!).
See how you go
Kind regards Andrew Porrelli

Kawasaki ZZR600. Does anyone know the correct torque settings for the clutch spring bolts? thanks, Greg

Just got off the phone with my service manager at my local Kawasaki dealership. "She" looked up the torque wrench setting for the clutch spring bolts. Its the same as a 2000-2002 ZX6R and 2005-2006 ZZR600.
Torque- Clutch Spring Bolts: 8.8 N-m (0.90 kgf-m, 78 in-lb)

Why my 2001 kawasaki ninja zx6 die when i start slowing down? then i have to stop and start it again

Just a thought, if you are running ethanol fuel it will lower the bikes idle speed. If you run no ethanol fuel your idle speed will go up. Turn your idle screw to raise the idle . Hopefully , your problem is just that simple.

What engine will fit in a 1986 ninja?

Get a different engine just like the one you had. Google " motorcycle salvage Kawasaki " and you can probably find the engine you need there. The best thing is now you have a whole lot of spare parts > the old engine.

Please rate this answer. Thanks Andre!

1999 kawasaki zx6 starts fine then rev's high when warming...

Hi, im not an expert but i have had this problem with a few 125's and a 250, if it has air chambers on the manifold of the carb to the airbox check they are secure with no holes and tighten up the clips, check the throttle cable tension and throttle body, this might help or might not but as i said im not expert.
