Jsdurand88, It sounds to me like you just replaced the brake pads although it is not mentioned here. If this is the case then what you have to do is to push the caliper piston back into the caliper. A C-clamp will do just fine here. Use this to push the piston in until it stops and then you should be able to put the caliper back in place. When you put the caliper back be sure to lubricate the sliders. Be sure that you pump your brake pedal a few times before you actually drive the car. Pumping the pedal pushes the piston back out where it belongs for proper brake operation. Good luck with this.

1994 Chevy Cavalier front right brake is locking up every time you step on brake . I already changed that caliber and it is still doing it

MOST OF THE TIME WHEN A CALIBER LOCKS UP: IT IS NOT BECAUSE OF THE CALIBER BEING BAD. THE CAUSE IS THE RUBBER BRAKE LINE GOING TO THE CALIBER IS BAD INSIDE OF THE RUBBER HOSE. ONCE YOU PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL YOU PUSH FLUID INTO THE CALIBER ONCE YOU RELEASE THE PEDAL THE FLUID DOES NOT ALL RETURN TO THE MASTER CYL. THE HOSE IS OLD AND THE RUBBER IS BUSTED INSIDE OF THE HOSE AND THE FLUID IS STAYING INSIDE OF HOSE AND HOLDING PRESSURE ON THE CALIBER. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME AND NEEDLESS TO SAY IT COST ME AROUND $500.00 TO HAVE IT FIXED AFTER I REPLACED CALIBER, ROTOR AND BRAKES.

How do i remove the front brake calibers on a 1991 chevy 4x4 k1500

The front brake calipers are held on by two long bolts with female 3/8" Allen heads on them The socket needed will be a 1/2" Drive 3/8" Allen. The bolt heads are at the rear of the caliper so leave the steering unlocked so you can turn the brake rotor in the direction that allows access. It will be esier to remove the caliper if you depress the caliper piston with a large screwdriver before trying to remove it after the bolts are removed. See bolt picture below.

I have a 1991 chevy lumina( euro) I installed rotors and front brake pads on it and sometimes the front end shimmies and shakes when I apply the brakes. I do have another question. But I 'am really hoping...

Warped rotors will always shake when on the brakes. You say sometimes, so I would look into tires out of round or out of balance. Also, take a good look for any loose front end parts or excessive play.

The speed sensor for your 1991 Chevy Cavalier Z24 is located on the transmission just inboard of where the passenger side drive axle enters the trans-axle.

Front brakes binding and grinding

Sounds like your brake calibers are sticking. Get new ones and new pads. You probably should get new rotors also because with the dragging calibers they most likely got hot and are warped. Search on ebay and www.rockauto.com . I personally use power stop drilled and slotted rotors with mid grade pads. You can probably get a whole kit.
