We have a TNT 1130, and it smokes black and high fuelcounsumption. I think that the wings under the airfilter are not opening. but why? can it be that that goldcouloured relais is not working? how can I check that? Also I want to remove the bottomplate of the airfilter, but cannot find a mountingnut/clip or so and don't want to spoil anything.I have to change the sparkplugs, therefore this plastic has to go out. Tunde.
Actually, what you say I knew. But I do not have a manual on the Benelli. My question was particularly for a TNT1130! how does the choke works? Is this through the airwings under the airfilter?? And how how these operated? By that relais? And which sensor steers that relais.
I hope you have a detailed answer for me.

Hi, you have to Perform cylinder compression and leak-down tests to know the condition of the engine.

Black smoke indicates a excessively rich air-fuel mixture.
Oil consumption up to a quart per 1,000 miles is considered normal with some manufacturers.
Worn needle jets contribute to increased fuel consumption. Rich A/F mix also causes high consumption.
You can fix it. Start with a tune-up. Tune the carburetor and repair worn parts as necessary.

Hi, although i have worked on various bikes but not on a Benelli but i think the choke works through the airwings under the air filter.
It will be better if you can get the manual. Try getting it from Haynes manual....

Black smoke in the exhaust and in high rpm white on passat 1.9tdi

this case , you have to check turbo charger , when high RPM white smoke means lubricate oil goes to engine so give white smoke . on low rpm trubo close coming black smoke means no enough air gose to engine so this need to replace turbo . some type of turbo can be clean the wase gate ( which open with diafam beside turbo) make sure it's moving when accilerate. check vacum is ok . then clean wase gate > only some type have wings inside )if no replace turbo
