Just got the bike back together and less than a mile down the road the front brakes started to sieze.I was wondering what could cause this in such a short time.

Rakes start out soft when you get down to the last couple miles an hour brakes get hard and pulls hard to the left

your front right is seized. less likely to be the rear but could be rear right. if its rear: reason is, overly adjusted not allowing movement of the parts thus they rust in position brake fluid needs replacement resulting in poor performance and not applying any force to disc/drum. if its front: maybe the piston has a small stone in gap thats come up from road surface jamming piston in place, again could just be brake fluid in poor condition with water content high causing rusting cylinder/slow piston.

Why are only two of my brakes working on my 98 bonneville pontiac?

This is a litlle strange as the master cylinder has the brakes usually set up with the fronts together and the rears together. you can see if the caliper on the front is siezed and the master cylinder frozen on the rear wheel. Does the car have ABS and if so have the lights come on

Had new front brakes done and rotors discs brake pads and it smells like its burning rubber after driving 5 miles back brakes lock up and need to repair as to brake lights are on is this normal or wher the...

the work should be rechecked to make sure nothing is siezed and check the rear brakes to see what is causing them to lock up.if the smell is coming from the front then you could have a caliper that has siezed after the brakes were replaced.this does happen from time to time and there is not a usual way to know before they sieze until its driven unless when pushing the pistons back you notice they are hard to push back.

Front end shimmy on yamaha roadstar 2002.

Front wheel needs balance, and also the rear wheel may need to be centered. If someone replaced the brakes or tires and the rear wheel is off center to the front that will cause the shimmy.

Front brakes works poorly. takes too much effort

This piston may have siezed in the caliper. A little rust, corrosion on the piston can be enough to sieze it especially if the bike is left standing for an extended period.

2001 XL1200S Cuts out and dies at highway speeds for a moment

Did you put a new battery in it? If not have it load tested and replace if needed. Check the grounds and make sure they are clean and tight. Check the stator by going to the plug on the right front down tube, with a muti meter take a reading with the bike running on the side that goes back toward the engine, I forget the values but you should get a reading at idle and then as you rev the motor the reading should climb. If all of the above check out OK the problem will be your voltage regulator.

The rear rotors on my Volvo v70 wagon are rusty! What can cause both rear calipers to stop working. Car has 70,000 miles on it.

your rear caliper adjustment is made by using the parking brake,if you don't use it on a regular basis it can cause the rear brakes to not work properly or at all.you need to use the parking brake regularly to avoid this.you may try working the parking brake repeatedly to try and adjust the rear brakes,if that works you may notice your brake pedal is higher or firmer.
