Before you attempt to take out the ignition, call a dealer and ask him if they can get you a key for your bike by using the VIN as reference. Harley and some metrics can do it this way.

How do i start my kawasaki 200zx when i lost key

Short of removing the ignition lock and manually hot-wiring the bike, you'll need to have the lock replaced. But if you ride around with an ignition hot-wired you're bound to get stopped by police or risk having the bike stolen unless you hide a bypass switch somewhere. You could try a locksmith but you're best bet is to either order a new one through a dealership, online or find a parts bike and take it from there.

2014 Honda CRF 250 L lost the keys

A locksmith can use your bike's ignition cylinder code or the entire ignition cylinder to make a new key. You also have the option of reordering a key from a honda CRF local dealer, using your bike's VIN. A traditional motorcycle key is the easiest key to replace.

Lost key need to replace ignition if it is cheaper then lock smith

Before replacing ignition, take VIN to the Suzuki dealer and ask if the have the replacement key for your particular bike. They should be able to help you. Around my home, locksmiths are not cheap, so if you can get the key from the dealer, you will be better off than changing the ignition or getting a locksmith.

If you lose the keys what can you do?

Hello and thanks for the question.

If you have lost the keys you only have two options. The ignition switch is the most detailed switch and will need to be replaced or have another key cut to work. I have removed the switch and taken to a locksmith with good results. The other option is to have locksmith come to the bike. the results would depend on your locksmith. When the bike was purchased new it had a tag with the keys that had a numerical code. If you have that code the dealer should be able to cut a key for it.

Remember that the key opens the ignition, fuel tank and the seat. If you can not get another key made, you will have to replace all three locks.

Thanks and I hope that this helps.

HONDA CBR 125RW (2007) I have lost ignition key. I have a basic copy which unlocks seat and petrol but will not turn in ignition lock or start the bike. I think I needed it coded or chipped? Rang 2 Honda...

Keys here in the USA most likely come from Honda ... because most places (hardware store, discount store, locksmith) will not stock them ... Keys I am familiar with here don't have a electronic chip in them.

Easiest solution is replace the ignition switch, though most dealers should be able to cut you a key based on the VIN. If you replace the lock, make sure you get a couple spare keys made.

If you are really despirate ... the ignition switch is after all only a two position switch ... Off/on. Get a toggle switch and make it work (this is for people with advanced skills)

LOST KEYS CBR IOOORR

I had the same problem with a older honda magna. I took the ignition assembly apart, and got the actual ignition out ( part where the key goes in) and nothing else. I then took it to a locksmith and he gave me two keys that turned the ignition within minutes. He said there was a number on the ignition that determined the code he used. I would try doing this before spending that kind of money. Remember it has to be a locksmith not the dealer. Good Luck

I lost my ignition key

A locksmith can come and pull your ignition switch and make a key for it, if you have AAA
I think they pick up part of the cost.
