When draining the oil, when it looks like it's done, carefully stand bike up right & a bit more will drain out as well, it's safe to put 4 qts in & not be over or under.

I was oil changing my VTX1800 and when i was puting in the new oil witch shoud be 4 quarts of 10w40 but out of the 4 quarts i acsidentally put in one quart of 20w50, Is it bad to run it like this ?

The 1 quart will increase the viscosity of the oil marginally which means it will be a little bit thicker and not as fast flowing throughout the engine. The overall effect will be minimal. What is bad is to overfill the crankcase,so please ensure that adding the 4 quarts has not overfilled it as there is often old oil left that doesn't drain completely.

Honda 2004 vtx 1300s have to run with the choke out or it dies when i down shift or stop, cleaned the carbs still doing it

Wish I could help but mine , '06 does the same thing. Turned the idle up and it helped quite a bit, but still have to leave the choke on at least 10-15 minutes. New plugs and cleaning the carb did nothing. Gonna try adjusting the A/F screw today.

The starter button only works intermittently...power to the cut off switch will all of a sudden be gone and sometimes it comes back quickly and sometimes not.

I had this problem on a 2004 VTX 1300S. What you are experiencing is caused by one of two things - loose wiring or a faulty starter solenoid. In my situation it was loose wiring. Hope that helps!
