Having problems starting honda ruckus i can get it runing buy spraying gas into the carb but then dies any ideas

This sounds like no fuel flow to your carb. I would proceed as follows:
Pull fuel hose from the inlet of the carb and see if you have flow, if not, check for plugged screens. While in this step, consider draining all fuel and replace with new fuel.

If you did have fuel flow, you will need to take the carb(s) apart and see what is wrong. Some times the float needle gets stuck and a moderate tap on the carb body with a screwdriver handle sometimes releases it, otherwise, you need to open the carb and look for gummed up orifaces and inlet valve issues.

Has this being sitting since last season?
Regardless what stabilizer you put in ETC if so try this.
Remove the old gas and put fresh gas, 91 octance just buy 1/2 gallon will act has a carb cleaner.
Also, pick up a can of engine starting spray.

Remove the air filter and spray the engine starting spray into the air intake. start the engine and give it additional squirts of engine starting spray until it runs smoothly.

CARB NOT GETTING FUEL.......STARTS WHEN PURGED...BUT DIES OUT !!
Since I don't have info on your machine, I'll just give some general ideas. If your machine has a fuel pump check it to see if it's working. Take off fuel line from carb to see if pump is pumping fuel. Check fuel filter. The problem may be clogged/ dirty carb. Use carb cleaner spray into carb throat , and approx. 1/3 can of carb cleaner into fuel tank.

I have a 1980 Honda 750k. I recently purchased it and it wouldnt hold an idle at all. would just die if you wasnt giving it gas. I had the carbs tore down checked and rebuilt but I am still having the same...
you may have a vaccume leak try spraying some carb cleaner around the carbs and intake ports while running and see if that changes the idle speed or allows it to idle for a second, otherwise it still sounds like a carb problem please rate

1973 CL100 Scrambler, died while riding, won't start
Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Is there any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Is there any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ).

Drain the carburetor. There should be a screw on the lower side or bottom of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. Install a new stock NGK spark plug and try to start the engine. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor from the engine.

Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb. Remove the idle screw and the air screw on the outside throat of the carb and spray into the screw holes as well.

Be sure to put these two screws back in the same hole they came out of. IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two adjusters down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each adjuster one and one half turns outward. Put the rest of the carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine.

Trouble starting gas trimmer
Yes. It sounds like you need to clean the carburetor. Take the carb. off, disassemble and spray with carb. cleaner. Make sure to clean the small screen in carb. Clean the small portals with a Den Tek Brush, (used for cleaning between teeth). They work great for this job. Reassemble carb. and try starting. If this doesn't cure the problem then you will need to buy a new carb. kit and replace the needle valve, gasket(s), diaphragm, & small screen.
