This is only a suggestion but I had a similar problem. I have a 1987 Camaro Iroc z fuel injected. I had a similar problem with the car back firing through the throttle body. It turns out it was the TPI sensor mounted on the front of the throttle body. The sensor is mounted on the front of the throttle body to the left on my car, the opposite side of the linkage. Its black in color and has a electrical connection to the back side of it. Its triangular in shape and mounted with to hex head screws if this is of any help to you locating it. Try adjusting it first that may correct your backfiring problem like it did for me. If this was any help to you leave me some feed back.

02 chevy s10 4.3 vortec wont idle barely starts

Be sure to check the Idle Air Control Valve...can be just dirty, or may need replaced...also thoroughly clean out the throttle body, spray and wipe clean...also clean the Mass Air Flow sensor, it requires a specific spray that does not erode the unit...hope this helps.

98 toyota cranks but will not start

Has the timing belt ever been replaced? Does it crank over kind of weird sounding compared to how it was before this? You could put some gas down the throttle body, if it tries to start you may have problem with the fuel pump. Leave the air intake hose off going to the throttle body while you are cranking it over is it trying to spray the gas back out of the throttle body? If it does the cam timing is off and belt will need to be replaced. Please rate my answer so I get points for it.

How do you replace timing chain in a1988 chevy s10 with a 2.8 where are marks on gears set do you use #1 top dead center or #4 tdc

Line up the crank gear timing straight up, line up the cam gear timig mark straight down (so the marks are closest to each other, or facing each other). the distributor will be firing #4.

Have replaced fuel pump, relay & fuel filter.

have you checked to see if you have a bad came or lifter. that would make it backfire. if it kind of spits fuel it maybe cam. if it throws fire than it could be timing like a bad chain.

Throttle body injectors not fiering but there is fuel pressure

the injectors are fired thru the engine cotrol module but it gets its signal to fire from the pick-up located inside the distributor if you are loosing injector pulse only the ignition module is bad if you are also loosing spark when you loose injector pulse your pick up is causing the problem if you replace the pick-up i recomend you change the ignition module when doing so because they work together and you have to remove the distributor to change the pick-up
