1994 Suzuki DR 350 S Logo
Anonymous Posted on Mar 29, 2011

Hello. My 1995 dr 350 has a couple problems. First of all, the engine seems to get crazy hot from just minor trail riding. I know the head should get hot, but this just seems too hot. I don't want to fry the engine. The other problem is that my clutch was extremely hard to pull in last year. I haven't even started yet this year, but as it sits in my garage the clutch seems perfect now. When in gear, however, it seems to drag the wheel a bit. It doesn't appear to be working properly. Last yaer it started to slip out of gear at times-I'd be cruzing along in 4th or 5th gear and it would slip out as if I pulled the clutch in a bit. Any ideas for what I could do to remedy my problems would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

For ur overheating problem it could be a clogged radiator or radiator hose. try pressure washing the radiator fins and maybie clean it out a bit and for the clutch it could be wear on ur clutch cable. let me know if this helped. thanks

Thanks for the response. The bike is not water cooled however, thus no radiator to check. I'll double check my clutch cable for the other issue. Thanks again for the quick response. Mark

Can a 1995 gmc 350 block and heads interchange with a 1988 chevy 1/2 ton 350

You will have to look for yourself with this picture. I don't think that'll fit example:
1-valve cover.
2-engine oil pan seals and gasket.
3-The rear block for the transmission.
4 Engine support bracket.
There are so many differences.

98 chevy truck 350 engine 93K miles when starting sometimes the engine will backfire..could be cold or hot engine..but after it runs for a couple of minutes will run fine..

A backfire usually indicates a timing issue. I recommend a minor tune up, which will include new plugs and wires, as well as checking/setting the distributor timing. An oil change is also recommended after the issue is corrected, as offset timing can cause fuel to remain in cylinder, which then bleeds past the piston rings and ends up in the crankcase with the engine oil.

My 1995 Mazda B2300 Truck, 2-dr. 4cyl. When driving up hills mostly, it engine sounds like it's dieseling, loses power, and the oil gauge goes crazy. Help?

Check your vacuum pump, that pump does all the switching of your sensor valves and ports. That would be my guess

1991 DR 350 rat bike - oil is not returning to tank, instead gathering in the crank sump. Someone before us had evidently had the same issue and presumably continued to add oil to the tank in an effort to...

the pump should be accessible through the RHS cover, if the pump is not working it may have worn out the drive gear, oil pumps themselves are fairly reliable.

If it got real hot quickly, and it has an oil problem , there may be some damage to the cam and rockers, and again if it has a oil pressure problem the hard kicking could be the piston siezing against the bore, so the oil pump is the minor problem compared to the other damage that may have happened

Hot air is is coming into the car from engine.

If you don't see any hole In the fire wall then check around the head housing, the air maybe coming from the heater compartment and not from outside.

Need lower first gear for more serious off road use

Change your rear sprocket for a larger one ie 3-5 teeth more, or the front for a smaller one maybe 1 tooth less, that will give you more accelleration.
