Hi, i have the projector since january 2009, i use it no more than 2 hours a week, sudenly the lamp stupped to work, and when i try to get it on - the replace lamp is flash, what is the prublem?

Just try to reset the lamp hour of your projector. For resetting the projector do the following.

While simultaneously holding down MENU/HELP, ENTER and Down arrow button on the projector, Press STANDBY/ON on the projector.
Remember one thing lamp hour reset is recommended only after the lamp replaced. Before going to buy a new lamp just reset the lamp hour and confirm that the projector doesn't have any other problem.

If these doesn't help then check the lamp of you projector chances for lamp became faulty.

clean the dust on filters and ventilation and then try again. also check the lamp cooling fan

The early lamp failures are due to poor air flow or longer hours of use.
So take care to clean the filters, see that the lamp brigtness is not put too high and reduce the hours of continuous use.

Likely the projector has seem some hours on it before being sold second hand to you. A worn out metal arc lamp will wink out like this when it is at END OF LIFE. As the lamp operates, pressures build from high voltage arc current passing through the pressurized bulb. More and more voltage is required to keep the arc struck and operating as temperature rises. As the bulb ages, it requires more power to maintain the arc in the glass envelope bulb. It can rise to a point where it overruns the ability for the power supply in the projector to safely maintain the arc and it winks off, only the fan is left running. When the unit cools, the arc re-strikes and illuminates the lamp.

In short - replace the bulb, but buy TWO of them. One to fix the projector, the other as a spare on hand while awaiting another replacement bulb down the road. These metal-arc lamps typically run anywhere from 50 to 100 hours depending on power supply design and cooling ability of the projector as a whole.

that model has a history of bad ballasts. you'll need to replace it.

I had the same problem and took a swiffer duster and cleaned inside where the lamp goes now it works fine.

It is possible the lamp has died even though you only got 800 hours. Rated Lamp life is always up to and never a surety of those actual hours in the brochure will be acahieved.
