Look where the sidestand pivot bolt is....just above it you should see a switch with a plunger, so when the sidestand is operated the plunger moves in and out.

Yahama vstar 1100 dies when put into gear

Could be a couple things, first, make sure your kick stand is all the way up, if so, you probably have either a bad kickstand or clutch switch. They can be checked with a meter set on ohms, if you get the same reading in both "in and out" the switch is bad, Frank

Suzuki dr350 is cutting out after engaging gear

could be a clutch issue but first make sure it doesnt have a saftey switch in the kickstand it will be like a secondary kill switch that kills the engine so you don't ride of with the kickstand down its a little sensor that usuall has 2 wires coming out of it sometimes you can bypass it although i dont recommend this as a permanent fix, look near the kickstand pivot for this sensor

Shuts down when let go of clutch in 1st gear

your kickstand safety switch is gummed up. for safety reasons your bike will not allow you to ride with the kickstand down. The switch is stuck that controls this safety feature. A can of spray carb cleaner will remove any gunk, or you may need to replace the switch. The switch is located near the kickstand. Just look for some wires in the area, they most likey go to the switch.

95 fzr600 cuts off when put in gear.

jump the two wire together in the plug that used to go to the switch, It shouldnt fry a relay or fuse, as that is all the switch does anyway(contact the two wires)
