2004 Aprilia Mojito Custom 150 Logo
Anonymous Posted on Mar 22, 2011

This is an Aprilia Mojito Custom, the 150cc version (I think this an '07, the last year). The carb was gunked up from the rotten fuel we are stuck with today and I cleaned it well and now there is virtually no fuel reaching the carb. I have checked the vacuum lines and put a vacuum pump on the line to what I think is the cut off valve and I do get fuel but the scooter is stopping intermittently, the fuel pump is the little nylon cylinder at the rear of the tank with a separate vacuum line. Can I check the pump with a vacuum pump. The scooter runs the float bowl out and then quits. Must be the fuel pump (?) and why is there a vacuum cut off when the fuel pump also will shut down from lack of suction? I rigged a temporary gravity tank and the scooter runs well. Thanks for any help. G. Morgan

Hi,,realy does sound like your fuel pump has had it,,did you have an inline filter, from the pump to the carb? anyway you could discard the pump and stick with good old gravity?

Good old gravity only works where the tank is above the carb. Such is not the case in a Mojito/Habana scoot.

I have a aprilia mojito scooter 50cc it start ok but when i ref it it cut out straight away and they hardly no power when i set off ?

Check the spark plug is clean and gapped. Aprilia is a high performance bike and the spark plug does tend to foul up.
If the plug is clean check that the fuel is reaching the carburettor ok.
Hope this helps

Aprilia habana cutting out and starting problems

Did you clean the pilot & main jets in the carb & set the float height to standard? There is also an over flow in the carb which should stop fuel flooding into the air filter - did you check?
Make sure there are no splits in the fuel pipes & the smaller vacuum pipe that goes from the side of the auto fuel tap, also check pipes connect well
By your description it sounds like the carb is filling very slowly, 1 bowlful would get you around 2 miles & then plug would be dry when trying to start it, leaving it overnight the carb would fill up & flood air filter due to a leaky fuel tap

Gas consumption dropped after service

my fuel consumption dropped from 19 km/liter to 16km/liter at 140km/h. What could this be? The service was done on 7500km but they did not do anything with the fuel. So what could it be? Even when I was going 180km/h it is still 16km/liter. I must say that the Capo now reach 230km/h without a problem on a straight road. Before I could only get 215km/h. Any thoughts?I think your aprilia dealer have change the CO² on the ECU ,
