1975 Yamaha XS650B replace throttle cables

Yes, take the cap off the carb and disconnect the cable then do the oil pump cable. The connector tube should then come apart for upper cable replacement. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

A throttle cable is best replaced. A simple process really. buy the new cable from the maker of he bike and hook it up the same way the old is taken off. Make sure it works freely.

I haven't taken my cables apart for replacement. I don't think I know what you mean by gas cable?? The throttle should supply the gas to the carb so I don't know what you mean specifically by the gas cable. But if you are talking about the cable that engages the drive (fwd...rev), it could be longer depending on where it is routed to the stern. Hope this helps??
