Take it to Auto Zone for a free engine code reading. They'll be able to tell you exactly why it's on. Sometimes it's even because your fuel cap isn't on all the way.

2007 Toyota Highlander V6 ODO 10,5000 miles, engine lagging?

Some ideas here, but no cars like being 'floored'.

The dealer shouldn't be checking for codes, they should be connecting a professional grade scan tool computer and recording what happens electronically when you are driving and floor it. It sounds like they have a $125 Amazon hand held code scanner.

Car running lean on bank 2, changed intake gaskets and pcv valve

what does exhaust smell like you may have carbon build up in engine try removing o2 sensors and cleaning with brake clean and reinstalling reset code and see if it comes back and how long it takes to reset also you can put a can of berryman in the gas tank with at least 1/2 tank of gas or more also buy a can of sea foam and install through vacuum booster hose you may see lots of black smoke from tail pipe if so after following instructions for application drive some what hard and if the black smoke continues fore at least a mile keep driving and if you notice a diff in runability but still have a little black smoke buy another can of sea foam and repeat service NAPA has sea foam on sale this month

The engine light comes on and a mechicanic plug in a computer thing and it said there is a problem with my EGR flow. what is the problem and how do I fix it.

check egr valve, remove it and check for carbon at engine where it mounts, or end of egr valve. check all lines and hoses to egr valve. when repaired. erase code with a obd2 scanner. egr sensor -A- high input.

12 miles a gallon.. Put on new thrmostat

a few things you can do is replace the fuel filter, air filter, and do a thorough injection cleaning. you can do this simply by buying a can of sea foam from any auto store and turn the car on and pull out a brake booster hose. this is located under the hood in the top right. it should be black, big and circle. also two hoses should come out of it. slowly pour the seafoam in. try your best to keep it running. once it starts bogging down, stop for a second then keep adding. do about a half a can and pour the other half in your fuel tank. turn the car off for about 5-10 minutes and then start it. lots of smoke will come from your tailpipe, but thats okay because that is all that carbon build up. and you should notice more gas mileage!

2002 toyota camery will not idle. after i replaced air filter, but it returned by itself. that's been about 5,000 miles ago, now it's back. also, i had the battery checked also and they same it was running...

This is ironic. I am on hear searching because the same thing happen to me today. replaced the battery and was having the smae idle issues. After a few hours of investigating and looking for air leaks we ended up with the intake into the throttle body housing loose and found alot of build up in the throttle body housing. Cleaned it out with carb spray and problem seems to have gone away for now. Not sure if this helps but this is where I am so far. Also check engine light was on and the tech erased it after cleaning and it has not come back on. Code was for mass air flow sensor and I originally tried a new one and it didn't change anything until I cleaned the carbon build up in the throttle body housing.
