glad i saved you the expense of trying out a new engine lol remember always start with the basics then work up to an engine change lol anytime and glad i could help if it happens again start the engine let it run for a minute or two and just listen to your bike should be grand but happens to me all the time no fear also bike will make the cracking noise when cooling down same reason metal contracts all the best and safe driving

if there is a ticking sound in your engine, this is because of your constant lowspeeding!try your driving not decreasing your speed 60kph

We live in Ottawa and it's cold here for half the year. Do I really need to worry about my dog contracting fleas/ticks in the really cold weather?

Living in some of the colder climates in Canada it is reasonable to say that during the really cold months you can stop using preventative flea control.

Why does my bike take so long to reach a normal operating temperture? It will keep cutting out until at least 4 miles is reached.

only 4 miles????? thats not bad realy,,after all its darn cold air out there!!,you never start it and let it run up for a fuw minuets before you drive away then? a cold engine will have maximum engine were done to it if driven cold! have you checked the thermostat out? if its stuck open the engine will take longer to warm up,,,but 4 miles???? thats nothing my BMW takes forever to warm up,,,the fan has only ever started up once in 3 years of riding it??? i was sat in a jam up for 30 minuets first with the engine ticking over!!! dont worry it will warm up quicker when the wether warms up

1999 Corolla CE ~150k miles...When attempting to start the car, only in very cold temperatures (T<50*F), the engine has difficulty turning over and will start with a loud unidentifiable engine noise. ...

the car doesnt come with a timing belt, it has a 10 year worry free, internal timing chain, but it sounds like either your battery or starter, cold weather causes the electric flow to slow down, take your battery in to see if its ok, then check your starter. good luck and hope this helps

I just bought a 2008 Sienna w/ 44,000 miles. When the engine is cold, doesn't have to be really cold, I hear this ticking noise (not loud) when engine is under slight acceleration between 1500- 2000 rpm....

Sounds like you are describing lifter noise. Go to the car store and buy a pint of Berrymen's Chemtool. Next time the engine is cold, pour the Chemtool into the engine oil. Do your normal driving for the next few days or weeks until you have 150-200 miles (none of them should be highway miles) on the engine, then have the oil changed. Drive for 2000-3000 miles, and do the same thing all over again. Repeat this a couple of times. If the lifter loosens up, your good to go. If it doesn't, then it will have to be repaired by tearing into the engine.
