Rs125x aircooled 2t single engine fitted in another frame, with ignition on the engine starts and runs fine, when clicked to second position,,,ign plus lights,,,,all works well including brake lamp, But on ign only,,,the first position,,engine runs but no brake light or horn,, new battery fitted and fully charged. There is an empty blue block in headlamp and no indicaters fitted, I cannot find a live feed for the brake lights with just the engine running on the ign first position. Have you any idea where the problem might lie, inline fuse from battery ok. hope you can help..thank you.

The fuel pump only runs for exactly 1 second when the key is turned to the run position, then the computer shuts it off unless the engine is being cranked over with the starter or it is running of course. If you wish to prime the system repeatedly turn the key to run and then off again until engine starts while holding the accelerator pedal to the floor to help purge air from the injectors.

Take your spark plug out of the cylinder, reconnect it to the ht lead and place it on to your frame if you see a spark then your coil is fine, try a new spark plug, if there is no spark get a new coil and plug.

Remember there is a 2t and a 4t version of the kymco vitality and the spark plugs are different.

Test the battery first(make sure it's charged 100%)
There is single wire , not a fat cable , on the starter ,
disconnect it , then use test light , connect it to that wire on one side and ground on the other side.
Turn ign. key to start position and watch the light , if it's on - starter is bad , if it's off - ignition switch no good.

The ETS limp home valve may be on. Clean the throttle body and intake runners with intake cleaner with engine running. Then do a ETS initialization as follows:

ETS INITIALIZATION PRCEDURE:
Turn the ignition key to the ON position (for less than one second) and quickly turn the ignition key back to the OFF position.
Wait 10 seconds in off position.The ETS Module performs the INITIALIZATION process and at completion you will hear a click from under dash. Turn the key on for 1 second then start the vehicle.

this sound like you fuel injector pump stop solenoid is faulty it has an elec wire attached to it that with ign turned on it opens (clicks ) then clicks off/closes the fuel supply to the pump so engine stops ok? however the seal on the valve may have parted from the operating piston valve on solenoid and although it is free to allow fuel enough for start and running will also restrict fuel flow for more revs resulting in power loss as you mention ? also when ign is turned off the valve will operate but seal being not attached to piston ? fuel can still flow/seep thro to f i p and allow engine to continue to run ? hope you understand ?? this solenoid valve is a screw in type normally on top of f i p with a single wire to energize it looks like a larger type of temp sender unit ?

On most vehicles, a red warning light indicates need for immediate attention. One area that this light would indicate would be oil level and/or oil pressure. On most bikes, the red light would show when IGN is first switched on telling the rider that the oil is not pumping. Once the engine has started this should go out indicating that the oil is circulating. In other bikes, the red indicator could represent the level of a 2T oil. In such instances, if it comes on with just switching on the IGN, then this indicates that there is little or no 2T oil in the reservoir. So this would be really be dependent on the make & model, whether a 4 stroke or a 2 stroke. Note: running a 2 stroke engine with little or no 2T oil in the fuel mix would result to burned pistons, rings and an overheated engine.

You have two (2) concerns and are interrelated to each other:

• lean right, oil light comes on - the 2T oil reservoir on most NSR designs would be attached to the right side, relatively high on the frame;
• on leaning towards the right, the contents of this reservoir would be displaced because of the angle. The 2T oil level sensor/switch would erroneously sense low or no 2T oil condition while thus leaned;
• this sensor/switch marked "Oil Level Switch" is connected to two (2) wires Green/Red and Green (ground);
• the false "low or no 2T oil" would trigger the "Low Oil/Ignition Warning" light to glow red; simultaneously
• the other Green/Red wire would go and trigger the PGM-III to switch OFF, hence the engine cutout.

Solution would be to fill the reservoir with appropriate 2T oil.

if module is fine try replacing pick-up coil located in distributor.
