Sounds like it may need clutch adjustment, may be an adjustment on cable at the motor turn it out couple turns and try again, theres also an adjustment at the lever, try that also, based on what you have described if the clutch is not fully engaged when shift into 1st gear it will shut down on you, also if you have it running with clutch lever pulled in and it wants to still move forward that is the problem, hope that helps.

97 cavalier starts and runs ok from a cold start after a few minutes of warm up it starts to run rough and miss. If i try to drive it it will start out ok but won't shift automaticly but shifts fine m

Sounds like possibly more than on problem, crankshaft position sensor, or ignition module likely on starting prob which maybe affecting shifting due to hard code in ecm, or shift prob could be shift solenoid in valve body of transmission. Both parts readily available from local parts store

Hey Elijah... the main jet on these bikes is not "adjustable"...it is a set sized jet.. what you did is probably fixed the air leak that was causing the rev issue..

Car stalls when you come to a stop

I have a 1991 pontiac 6000 that had the same problem a few years ago. In fact, this problem is common on the cutlass and other similar cars. The most common root cause is a bad TCC (torque converter clutch) solenoid. This part is fairly inexpensive to replace (approx. $20 part) and is located in the side pan on the transmission. You will also need a side pan gasket and some fluid to replace any that leaks. The TCC is designed to lock up when the engine is warm and cruising in high gear (this saves gas like having another gear). If the TCC solenoid is bad, it can cause the TC to stay locked up when you slow down. This is similar to using the brake to stop a manual shift car without depressing the clutch. The result is a car that shakes a bit then quits running.

A quick way to confirm this is the problem is to unplug the connector on the front edge of the transmission housing (about one foot behind the radiator). This will prevent the TCC from locking. You will also notice that the speedometer does not work while this is disconnected so be careful to stay under the speed limit.
