Ok try this first get a c-clamp and a piece of wood and compress the piston that way.you could try to open the bleeder screw put if does not compress you need a specail tool .if that tool still does not compress the piston then you need to replace the caliper if that won't work then you need to get a specail caliper tool you should be able to get that at autozone or advaced auto parts they will charge a deposit but you will get that back when you return it .

Can i replace the front and rear pads on my ba mk2 like most normal disk brakes, or does it require special requirements because of abs and traction control?

Simply use the appropriate pads for your vehicle no special brakes needed. Do what I do and won't need to bleed I never have to bleed when I do disk. Remove caliber from disk. Remove pads from caliber. Use a c-clamp or a role back tool and push piston back into caliber. This pushes fluid back through lines to master cylinder. Other than that nothing special needs to be done

Brake pads

The part that is hitting it is the brake caliber. The piston needs to be pushed back in. Get a 4-inch clamp and a piece of wood and put the wood over caliber, then clamp and tighten and push the piston back in.

2003 s type brake front pad - what tools are need to change the pads

the front pads are pretty straight forward, just a c clamp is sufficient to press the calibers, make sure the brake fluid reservoir cap is off when you do them..just unbolt the calibers from the rotors and they work the same as standard brakes, but the rear calibers at time will need a caliber tool to turn and press the piston simultaneously

Changing rear brake pads on 2008 Ford Taurus and a threaded rod located within the caliber piston prevents compression of piston back into the caliber.

You need a special tool for rear pads. The pistons have to be turned in, there is either slots or holes in the piston for the tool to fit in, then just turn the piston clockwise and push a little at the same time.
Just turn them in far enough for the new pads to slide over the rotor.

How do you remove the front disc brakes?

To remove the front disc brakes , you must remove the break caliber assembly . Keep in mind that on some brake calipers a special Torx Drive T40 or T45 must be used to remove the caliber bolts from the spindle assembly . Also , Allen (Hex) bolts are sometimes used . Be sure you have the right tools .
1. Properly block both rear wheels at the front in the back of each wheel.
2. Loosen the lug nuts on both front wheels one turn on each nut.
3.Jack up and support the front of the car on Jack stands with the wheels one to 2in. off the ground.
4. Remove the two bolts on the inside of the caliber the secure it to the spindle .
5.Once the bolts have been removed the caliber should pull straight away from the rotor and spindle assembly .
6.Remove your old brake pads , clean the assembly , properly lubricate the moving parts as necessary , especially the floating sleeve as the assembly is called a floating caliber which means half of the Caliper is bolted to the spindle (inner) but the other half floats (outer).
7.Use a large see clamp centered between the caliper piston and caliper housing to push the piston all the way back into the caliber cylinder by turing (1 turn at a time) the screw until the piston is flush with the caliber face .
8. Install your new brake pads .
9. use the reverse procedure to assemble everything back together. Good luck and be safe....

How do i adjust the brake caliber to fit over the new brake pads

ok well since you didn't say front or back brakes
FRONT CALIPERS just push the piston back with big pliers
REAR CALIPERS you have to turn the piston back in there is a special tool for that (its a cube with different shape pins)
IMPORTANT make sure to have the notches on the caliper face at 12 and 6 o clock possition there are pins on the back of the brake pads to algin the pads or the brakes will DRAG and not stop correctly
hope this helps

How do you take the front caliper off a 1990 toyota camry? i undid the 2 bolts on it, now do i just pull or what?

You can sometime just pull it off but sometimes you will need to take a screwdriver and push the brake pad back on the caliber piston side. This will force the piston back and allow you to remove the caliber. After you remove it you will need to compress the caliber piston fully back in order to allow room the install the new pads and get them back on the rotor. Sometimes you can fully compress it while the caliber is still installed. On some vehicles like Honda you need a special tool in order to compress the caliber. Most auto parts stores will lend you the tool if you buy the pads from them. Be sure and loosen the master cylinder fill cap to allow the brake fluid to expand in the master cylinder. Clean everything off with spray brake cleaner before installing the new pads and clean the new pads throughly. Be sure and install pads in pairs. Do both front wheels or both back wheels not just one.
