I Have a Ryobi Trimmer. I cleaned out the carb and put it back together but forgot the High and Low needle settings. I have got it to start but am having trouble tuning it. I have put a carb kit in it and some new fuel, but still having trouble tuning the high and low speed. It idles fine but my problem is when i pull the throttle full it bogs and dies, I think its not getting enough fuel and too much air because if i hold my finger part way over the air intake and hold the throttle on full it will rev its guts out. I dont know how to give it more fuel as Ive already put a new carb kit in and its clean as a whistle. Help

Adjust the needles both all the way in until they stops. unscrew both 1 1/2 turns and start engine. slowly accelerate and if it bogs down unscrew the HIGH SLOWLY until full speed is gain. some times you have to unscrew a little the low speed too. is a matter of playing with it. be patient you will get it. if you are still having problems you may have to take the bottom of carb. out and make sure the gas inlet needle is letting pass gas into the carb. chamber.

My ryobi rpt3000 don't want to rev up, it starts and idle fine, but not revving up,i did clean the carb and lines, but same problem

When you cleaned the carb, did you count the turns before taking out the High and Low adjustment screws? did you put them back the same amount of turns? The Low Jet is usually the culprit

Ryobi string trimmer loses power on top end, wide open starts to slow like losing fuel.runs fine to that point.

Could be a number of things...
With the carb...first check the needle lever setting in the carb, it should lift the needle out of the seat without much play. Check the diaghrams in the carb, if they are stiff they will not pump the fuel correctly. Next give both the lo and hi speed needles a half a turn out.
Internal engine problems... The unit could be on the point of beiong worn out. Check the compression. It should be higher than 90psi. Is there a oily residue starting to accumulate around the crankcase? The crank seals could be leaking causing a high pressure low end air leak.

the high speed check valve is most likely stuck and not allowing fuel to flow properly. the bad thing is it cant really be fixed. i have had some luck removing everything and putting it in an ultra sonic cleaner for about 10 minutes. however the fix doesnt usually last long. may want to look in to a new carb.

Ryobi CS30 - Stalls out?

Dirt or varnish in fuel filter or carburator. Change filter if there is one.

Flush out the carb with a varnish remover.

Open high speed needle valve 1/8 turn farther, then turn in while running until it just smooths out.

Ryobi 790r trimmer has low power and stalls

Maybe a quick fix and maybe not
check your muffler the factory puts a spark arrestor screen that tends to plug after awhile
there is a little plate on the side muffler that needs to be removed to access the screen you may need a torx bit or allen wrench to remove
you may have to remove the back half of the plastic cover to access the screws
remove screen and clean with carb. cleaner or equivalent make sure you can see through it and reverse the procedure to put it back

No power

check for restricted exhaust next
some manufactuers put screens in their exhausts and they tend to plug up sometimes remove clean and put back screen.
When you removed carb. and dimantled were the rubber pieces soft and pliable? if they were not then consider a carb. kit
Be sure on the needle valve side of the carb. the diaphram side
the gasket goes first then the diaphram not the opposite. Zama or walbro the same deal
sometimes you have to dismantle the carb totally and drop it in carb. cleaner for awhile to allow to penetrate where its hard to clean and sometimes you have to replace the carb, but not always
the initial carb. setting for high and low is 1and1/4 turn and tweek from there.
Also the smallest pinhole in the fuel lines will create havoc also.
and if compression is weak or low the carb. will not work properly either.
Try these things and maybe it will help you some?

You need to rebuild the carburetor. You will need to go to an outdoor power & equipment store of some kind to get a carburetor kit for your specific trimmer. It will come with various gaskets, (some of which you won't use), a needle valve, and a small screen that goes in the carb. Replace all old parts with new. New primer bulb is sold seperately. When you have the carb. apart, you will also need to clean the small ports with a Den Tek Brush (used for cleaning teeth). Use carb. cleaner when cleaning.
