My car doesn't start off giving out white smoke but after a while, my car will start to smoke, it's not bad unless driven for a while and the smoke appears to be white, my temperature in my car is never bad, but it worries me to drive in. My car also seems to be driving perfectly fine and my rpm is not ever exceeding its limit. I'm worried it might be a blown gasket, or a broken radiator pipe. I don't know if it could be the oil rings, but please help!

Usually white smoke is caused by water or anti freeze entering cylinder. in radiator or overflow the coolant will look like a chocolate milk shake. check on oil dipstick for traces of water or anti freeze. this would indicate a bad head gasket. look around head at gasket, and see if you can see any leaks. Most symptoms of a blown head gasket can be diagnosed through careful observation As the coolant heats up, and pressure rises, it will be forced into the cylinder during the intake stroke. This coolant will flash into steam during combustion and will be visible as a white cloud coming from the tailpipe. it may not even be a head gasket thats bad, cause usually if headgasket is bad, engine will overheat!! but if a bad gasket vehicle would miss and loose power. also check the pcv system ( positive crankcase valve ). hope this helps ! check system first !!

Car lost power uphill with air on and was hard to start once. blue exhaust smoke when reved up otherwise runs good

Blue smoke is not good!! Piston rings are bad or valves. On a Mercedes it will cost you more than the car is worth at this point. Unless you have a sentimental attachment to the car and really really want to keep it., I would get rid of it. 123,000 mile is a great life for a 1989.

Why bmw x5 battery drain fan not working exhaust blowing out white smoke... what may be happening.

White smoke out of the exhaust indicates moisture (water) in the exhaust. If the car is not driven very far each day, some moisture will collect in the muffler and cause white smoke for a short while after starting. If the smoke is continual, however, you need to watch you coolant level as you may have a blown head gasket.

2000 olds silhouette van starts and runs fine but after about 20 mins of driving and then being parked won't start unless I give it some gas. Then sometimes it starts smoking when I start it if it doesn't...

smoke can be from bad rings n valve guides or radiator fluid gettn in the cylinders--car is worn-wud probly need rebuild if confirmed------giv it a ignition tune--new plug wires...maybe coil or ign module--injector inspection too......bad spark can also create these issues-------unplug computer then reconnect and see if this stuf clears-often older vehicles develop dirty pins in the plug--its a common practice to reboot--get system scanned at private shop if no results

Spitting sputtering

These things are notorious for having crank sensor failures. Not too expensive and not too dificult to replace. I would try that first.

My truck is blowing white smoke out the tail pipe and I have no power wont go but I can idle around its a 2055 f250 turbo diesel, 300000 kms...litterally just started doing this a couple days ago..now ...

White smoke for a diesel means air in the fuel system. You will have to start at the engine, I start at the line going to the fuel pump. Get some fuel in a can, remove the line to the supply side of the pump and put another line from the can to the pump. If it starts and doesn't smoke , then you have to work your way back to the tank and find the spot that is sucking air. If it doesn't start the I would replace the filter first, check again. There is a possibility that the injector pump is bad, but these don't usually throw white smoke. They just make the engine have very little power or no start.

White smoke is coming for rear exhaust pipe after start up and sometime after acceleration

White smoke is usually the sign of a blown headgasket.. I would have the coolant system pressure tested before any serious damage is done.

How much should my Ford ranger 2.5td be smoking,is it normal for diesel engens to smoke.

Sometimes diesel engines will put out black smoke under extreme acceleration. Other than that, they shouldn't smoke. Black is excess fuel, White smoke is water and bluish is oil. White smoke on a cool morning is not necessarily a sign of a problem unless it happens every time you start it through a warm day. Hope this helps.

1998 leganza motor smokes when it warms up

If the smoke is white, or steam it is water. you might have cracked the head or warped it. Did you get it looked at before you put the new gasket on? If the smoke is black then it is oil. Do a compression check and see if you don't have a bad cylinder. They should all be about the same give or take 5 lbs.
