The car will not start. All the lights come on, dash, interior and head lights. The car will not turn over. It does not even try to turn over. I looked at the battery terminals and they looked very clean. The starter motor is not clicking. The car did sound like it was having trouble starting like the battery was low for the last couple of days. Could it be any fuses and where are they? I had the ignition replaced three years ago when it did not start could it be that again where the ignition is having trouble reading the key? I am a little stumped at what is wrong here, please help.

To check the starter solenoid, run a jumper wire from the postive battery post to the starter solenoid terminal. Its the terminal on the starter with just one small wire connected to it. when you jump it directly with battery power it should crank the engine if the solenoid and starter are working. If the solenoid just clicks but there's no cranking, the battery may be run down or the starter motor is bad.

If the starter works with the above jumper rig then you may have ignition key problems or the starter relay is bad.

Why won't my car start? no lights interior/exterior.

It seems that the battery is incapable of holding a charge. You might try disconnecting the battery cables and try charging the battery again over night. Reconnect and see if anything works - if nothing works - it's time for a new battery.

2008 Jeep Liberty error code gate on dash and interior light will not turn off got new battery and still doing it

can i buy a comma? says vanna white?? LOL !
ok, the battery drains, so you got a DRAIN, called phantom drain.
or dark current.!!
we use a thing called an AMMETER (DMM) to find all drains, easy

do you have one, want to learn or just wanting wild guessing.

on any 08 liberty, we check the scan tool data.
oops it shows battery low, wow even the PCM sees that.

new batteries do not fix drain.
nor dead alternators.

get it serviced, by a pro. ?

1: charge battery (rested its 12.6vdc )
2: start engine, scan tool shows, what DTC errors (post em')
3: battery voltage is , 13.3, to 15vdc running, if not charge system is faulting.
4: ok all that is ok, i then key off and measure bettery cable neg lug drain current, if 0.010a to 0.040a its ok, if over 0.1 amps its a drain.
we then find the drain cause, ASK? its not hard with a meter.
but i bet all you wanted is a wild guess.

Hope you can read that? Check the fuses for those relays, the two on the right. Not only check the fuses, use a test lite to check for voltage on the fuse circuit. Check the four fuses on the left, also, some are hot all the time, some go hot with the key on.
The top two wires at relay is the load side. The bottom two wires are on the control side of relay. The control side needs voltage and ground. Your gem module controls ground. Sometimes when battery voltage is lost, some modules may need to be reprogrammed? I don't have that info. In my opinion, clicking is either intermittent voltage or ground. Right now I'm thinking ground, controlled by the gem model. I could be wrong?

1996 Firebird won't start but all dash & interior lights work.

It takes X amount of volts to click the starter, if the contacts are corroded, it won't click, but it will run the lights. I would check the battery terminals for corrosion, clean them off with a wire brush, check the water in the battery, check the electrolytes with one of them floaty ball things. They work great. Then see what happens. If you have a volt meter, check the battery, you need 12+ volts to start. Hope this helps.

No dash lights or interior lights on a vw sharan

First, try checking the fuses. If you don't have any problems there, try looking on the steering column, on the lever sticking off, there should be a knob that just spins on that lever. That should adjust your interior lights.

Dashboard lights go off when sencer turns on headlights

you have you interior light dimmer turned way down. when the lights are off all your digital dash has full lights. when the lights get turned on it goes off the dimmer. it should be by the left of the steering wheel on the dash. just turn it up and the lights will be as bright as you want even after the car head lights turn on.
