1997 Suzuki GSXR won't start. Starter button and kill switch are getting proper voltage when pressed, and I changed out the starter relay, but still the starter solenoid won't even click. However, I can jump 12 volts straight to the starter and the starter motor checks out perfect. I'm lost.

Check for an in-line fuse for the started solenoid. Will the starter turn if you take a jump to the solenoid pull-in terminal?

Blew the fuse? Check the cable between the starter solenoid and the starter. There is possibility that there is a short in that wire that is grounding when voltage is applied to the starter.

Measure the voltage on the starter side of the solenoid with the kill switch ON and the key ON and the starter switch PRESSED - trans in N. IF it is not 12 volts, it may be faulty.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, try with the sidestand folded up and / or the clutch lever pulled in.  Likewise determine if there is a clicking sound when the start button is pressed:
  • if there is a clicking sound, locate the starter relay. Follow the big cable from the battery's + terminal; it would end in nother terminal of the starter relay:
  1. turn ignition ON and kill switch to RUN;
  2. short the 2 big terminals of the starter relay. Expect a big start. If the starter spins, startr relay is faulty.
  • if there is no click, then the safety interlocks are preventing the relay from engaging. Check the neutral switch/wire and sidestand switch/wire.
It is of course assumed that the battery is fully charged and that the battery cablles/connectors are clen and tight.  Postback result(s) of tests.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

No power getting to starter on my 1995 suzuki gsxr 750 motorcycle

I would look at the safety cut out system. (Clutch switch, side stand switch, neutral switch and the starter switch). next look at the starter relay.
