Replacing brakes is nowhere near what's involved in an alternator replacement. I suggest if you decide to give it a try, first get yourself either a chilton or haynes manual to guide you through the process.
Neither manual is very expensive and you get to keep it to help with other future repairs. Most larger parts stores sell at least one or both of those. Difficulty level depends upon your skill and how good the tools you use are. One tool tip....use six point sockets and wrenches unless it's absolutely impossible to position them correctly. Twelve point ones tend to round off bolt heads when they are very tight.
Good Luck!!

It's not that difficult. Loosen the tensioner remove the belt off the altenator remove the bolts and wires from the altenator. you can do it.

I have replaced several alternators in my life. Generally the replacement process is easy; however, this depends upon the accessability of the alternator itself. The attached link clearly explains the needed work. A new altrernator will run ~ $100.

2000 olds bravada rear brakes are draging. changed brake hose's to calupers and the center hose as well. with new brake and rotors still draging not sure what to do next.

I also have this problem on my 2000 Bravada - replaced all rotors and back calipers, brand new brake pads, new system and my rear caliper STILL chewed up a brand new brake pad in one week down to the metal. Checking for an emergency brake issue at this point - if anyone has any suggestions about how to unhook the E Brake, please share!

Main brake lights not working, third light works, turn signals work, all fuses are good, what could be the problem? 02 Olds Bravada.

Most likley the brake light switch. It has 2 different sides. One for the third brake light and one for the lower brake lights. It is inexpensive and can be changed easily. Good Luck

Brakes

A possible explanation is a bad speed sensor at one or more wheels. These sensors are needed for proper operation of the ABS. Another answer would be brakes were improperly bled or a fulfunctioning ABS pump. If you had these done with a professional and the light was not on prior return to the place of repair for an explanation further diagnostic will be needed. If a speed sensor was left un-installed you may be able to see a loose wire behind the wheel that seems to need a home.
