Initially yes, but as water is spun off the rotor and air movement dries the single contact area where currents are picked up, the spark will return. Check the cleanliness of the pick-up coil and spray some pentrating water reppellant in the rotor and stator coils. Turning the engine over a lot without spark may also pick up some excess fuel/oil or carbon deposits and foul the sparkplug.
Cheers!

2004 YAMAHA YFZ 450 Quad POPS OVERHEATS BREAKS UP AT HIGH RPM.

Question edited for full 'year make model (what it is).
Question moved from motorcycles to make model category.
Please don't type in all CAPS, it is considered SHOUTING and is harder to read.

'clips' and 'turns' it took me a while to realise you were talking about the carburetor and you were playing with the mixture screw and needle position! 4 turns out is a lot different to the factory setting which is 1 1/2 turns out.

If it is overheating it is running too lean. As you changed the stator, also consider the ignition timing. Popping can also be caused by the ignition failing under load, coil, lead and spark plug.

Having trouble getting spark on a 91 to 93 ,250 4 stroke . changed coil new spark plug ,

The stator may be your problem. Sometimes a faulty stator can test good on a ohms meter, but under a load may not supply the spark needed to fire up the motor.

Backfire thru exaust on a 2004 kx 250

remove stator cover and flywheel (puller required), verify crankshaft key is not sheered, and stator plate is in its proper position. There is no timing mark on that flywheel because it is irrelevant and not needed.
This is most likely not a flywheel timing issue but a CDI timing issue. The CDI timing is governed by the TPS switch on the carburetor telling the CDI when to change timing maps and curves. If the carburetor is dirty and you cranked up the idle to run off the main circuit instead of the proper idle circuit this can happen. Or you have an improperly set, or failed TPS switch on the carb.

1977 yz 250 isn't getting fire

Check the points for proper gap and clean. The old school bikes used more than just coil and plugs. Also, often overlooked, check the kill switch connection. Often this is the case on Yamahas.

I have a 2000 yzf that will not Fire.

The stator is a magnet that passes over coils. This generates the electrical current that is then amplified by the coil to create a spark. yes the stator is needed to create the fire.

KLX 250 won't fire - new battery

-check the fuse right hand side below the fuel tank and seat, see if it is blown.
- Check to see if plug has spark, replace if necessary .
- Did you run the bike with a low battery before replacing it? could be that your stator is shot.
-Is bike trying to start but won't?
