The clicking tells you that the starter button is working.
Take off your side cover and locate the starter solenoid. You can follow the positive battery cable to it. Touch the two cables bolted onto the solenoid together (you can use a piece of wire, a jumper cable clamp, or an old screw driver) if the starter turns over you have a bad solenoid.
Hold the starter button and gently tap on the starter with a plastic hammer. If the starter works you probably need to rebuild the starter by putting in a new set of brushes. If there is anything else wrong with the starter you will have to buy a new one . On most motorcycles parts (other than the brushes) are not available, all you can do is replace the assembly.

2001 pontatic grand am 3.4 new battery and alternator .car not starting.also battery terminals are getting hot

Sounds like a bad starter to me....the clicking ...sounds like the solenoid is throwing the drive gear out of the starter engaging the flywheel, but not sending power to the motor itself to turn the engine over. The battery getting hot suggest a "stuck or shorted" starter motor. The starter is a two step process.
Of course the extreme end could be a seized engine. Try turning the engine by hand at the crank ballancer bolt [clockwise only, battery disconnected] and see if it turns freely.

2010 Suzuki Boulevard C109RT will not turn over makes clicking sound

Are you sure there is enough in the battery? At least 12 volts? Is there a starter relay on the bike? Try swapping it with another relay. Does that bike have a switch on the kick stand? Maybe check that out as well. You can always try "pop" starting it too. Roll it at about 5 mph holding the clutch in, with the trans in second gear, and let go of the clutch. Be ready to pull it back in as soon as it starts.

KTM 950 sm won't start...starter tries to kick bike over but sounds like it is not getting enough juice...battery terminls and lead wires get very hot....battery is new..so I know that is not the...

The wiring should not be getting hot, but if you are trying to get the engine running with the starter motor and it is not turning the engine over, you need to investigate why the engine is not turning. Put the shifter in top gear and try to push the bike (key off) to see if the engine is free to turn. If ok, remove the starter motor and check the drive to the engine. It may be a broken chain or other interference trouble. Try running the starter with the chain disconnected. If it won't turn (make sure the body of the motor is touching the engine), the motor may be jammed in some way. The other possibility is that the wiring to the starter is grounding out somewhere--maybe the starter solenoid. Hope this helps!

My 2002 kawasaki ninja 250 is having trouble starting. (electric start) At first it was just giving me this clicking sound kinda like when your car wont turn over and start. So I replaced the battery for...

The oil light is on because the engine isn't running to build any oil pressure. Sounds like the new battery may need to be charged fully. After the battery is fully charged, and the 'clicking' noise is back (or not) check the battery connections for corrosion--especially at the positive terminal. If ok, you should get one solid click when trying to start. If ok, but still not starting, jump the two heavy terminals of the solenoid (click source) with a heavy wire which should bump the starter motor. If nothing, then the starter motor needs service--usually the brushes inside fail to make contact with the armature due to brush wear, or weak springs. Most dealers will likely only sell you a new starter--no internal parts. Hope this helps!

Starter issues

try tapping on the starter motor/solenoid, it sounds like the solenoind is engaging(the clunk you hear) but the starter is not turning if the wire is getting hot it could be the starter is frozen up.
