Try removeing the cover and screen from the muffler and clean them useing carb and choke cleaner to remove carbon build up. Be very sure they are dry before thet are installed because this cleaner is exremly flammable.
I would turn down carb adjustment screws till they are all the closed then open back up one full turn and fine tune frome there.Turn idle screw to where it will idle good just to the point that chain sarts to turn, then back off to where chain is stopped. Turn run screw up to where it will run at full R.P.M. Then back off in very small increments till it just starts to miss then reverse till it just starts to
run steady again it.Remove air filter and clean. If it is a foam filter it may be washed with dish soap and hot water.Rinse out and let dry off you can use low pressure air. I hope this helps you. Thank you.

There is a number of reasons why this can happen, running the saw on too rich a fuel oil mix, most modern two stroke oil is ok to run at 50-1, air filter blocked creating over fueling, clean the filter, carb mixture screws set too rich, re set the H screw on the carb, carb flooding due to needle leaking, service carb, ignition system fault, miss firing, replace plug, or ignition unit.
Always try the easy stuff first before fitting new parts.

020T wont start and leaking engine oil

The 020T has no engine oil, it is a 2 cycle. The oil you are seeing is unburnt oil and gas from the combustion process, perfectly normal. It may also be from trying to start it because fuel may be entering the motor when you are pulling the rope, the excess fuel will eventually make its way out of the muffler. The no start could be a number of issues, but I'd start with fresh fuel and reviewing the starting procedure for a Stihl saw.

2003 dodge van runs ok one day and dies out the next

check the cat converter for failure as it breaks down and causes a blockage in the exhaust. t may have been the reason for the muffler failure by not burning off the unburnt fuel in the first place.

I have a dewalt dg7000b ..is it normal to have a flame like a little salamander out of the muffler

No. Sounds like the engine is running very rich and unburnt fuel is being ignited in the exhaust pipe.

Stihl MS250

check that you have put the fuel lines on the new carby correctly
if the machine was running ok and you make a change and a problem occurs , go back to what you did and not go off trying for a different fix

Installed new carb-saw will idle fine, but will not rev.Idle scew has no effect on r.p.m.As soon as you hit the throttle, saw dies.Almost act's like the chain brake is on but it is dissengaged.Both...

There are a few things to check, if the muffler has a spark arrester gauze in the out let this may well be blocked, remove the muffler and the gauze, does the engine now rev? if yes either the park arrester is blocked or the muffler itself is blocked, if this does not cure it, check the flow of fuel from the tank to the new carb, replace the filter in the fuel tank and try again, if this does not help try running the saw with the air filter removed, if it revs normally the filter is blocked.

not starving fuel but "flooding out" and putting unburnt fuel in the exhaust system which ignites and damages mufflers and cat converters
check for excessive fuel pressure or bad /leaking injectors

Saw is a 14 inch model 1950. Saw starts but won't run

Check the fuel filter, air filter and muffler for plugging. Make sure the carburetor fasteners are tight. Does the primer bulb fill with fuel after several pumps? Hope this helps!

NO SPARK, HAVE NEW PLUG BUT IT CONTINUES TO FLOOD.WHEN I TRY TO PULL START, THE PLUG JUST GET WET, PROBABLY IN THE FUEL AIR MIX ADJUSTMENT. HOW DO I CORRECT THIS? FUEL ALSO COMES FROM EXHAUST.

If raw fuel comes out of the muffler then you have an extreme flooding condition. There are no Model Numbers to tell me which type of saw we are working on but this works most of the time.

Try this: Remove the spark plug and BE CERTAIN the stop-switch is in the OFF position. Take the saw outside and bring a fire extinguisher with you! Hold the saw by the rear handle and let the muffler hang down to the lowest point possible. SLOWLY begin to pull the starter rope and observe the fuel being pumped out of the muffler. Gradually increase the speed of the rope pull and get as much fuel out as possible. When satisfied that it's dry, it isnt. Use compressed air to LIGHTLY blow into the spark plug hole and continue to pull the rope. (Might need 50 or more pulls!) Blow the spark plug dry and reinstall it.
Turn the switch ON, leave the choke OFF, and hold the trigger wide open. Start the saw and allow it to run at full throttle until it clears out all unburnt fuel and has good throttle response. If you need further assistance reply to this post with the make and model of the saw and I will be happy to help.

Hope this is helpful,
