I HAVE A 2001 KAWASAKI BAYOU 300 4X4 WHAT OIL SHAOULD I RUN IN IT I HAVE 10W40 NOW ALSO JUST 80W GEAR OIL IN REAR ENDS ALSO HAVE A LITTLE MOTOR OIL LEAKING OUT AFTER RIDING AROUND BLACK BOX WHERE ROD FOR HIGH AND LOW GOES LOOKS LIKE FROM AROUND BEHIND IT ANYTHIG ELSE IN THAT AREA IT COULD COME FROM AND MOTOR OIL IN IT ALSO TAKES CARE OF CLUCTH AND TRANNY RIGHT OR WRONG NICE AND SMOOTH RIDE BUT DO NOTICE RIGHT AT BEGINING OF SLOW TAKE OF A RATTLE BUT THATS IT NO WORRIES \
Original owner of one of these machines. Over 10,000 km to date, replaced rear brake shoes 3 times, front universal joint and one rear axle bearing/seal. Have used 10w30 Opti 4 since new. id have a professional take a look at your gear case , there sometimes is too much free play in trip lever for gears and it cant reach the farthest ones , also it could be the trip lever or case has been damaged by hitting something (happens) this will move the end play of trip lever too far away to reach end gears , removing a gear case side is a little too extreme unless your a professional mechanic as there are lots of tiny bearings and things inside there to move/loose not to mention the almost half a gallon of gear lube thats gonna run out
