I change my cartridge type filters every other oil change and have seen no ill effects on my Goldwings. I do loosen the filter cover to drain the small amount of oil in the filter compartment. The important thing is to have a filter in so IF the motor does break , you do not get metal into the oil pump and small passageways or cause other damage from the pieces of metal suspended in the oil. An oil filter does not cost that much . Find a deal and buy several on line. If you have several on hand it will not be a big deal whether or not you change it each time you do an oil change. Overall you would be better off just changing the filter each time you do an oil change. If you decide to skip every other time you should see no ill affects.

Hello,

No... you should always change the oil filter. The oil filter is designed to keep your oil clean of particulates that can damage your engine. Not changing it every oil change can reduce your engine life.

If you find this information useful, please vote on this post. Thank you.

I have a 2007 250 ninja and I am changing the oil for the first time. I am trying to locate the drain plug for the oil and the oil filter location?

The oil filter is under the engine towards the front, black canister ,and the drain plug is at the very bottom of the engine in the middle probably 12 or 13mm spanner, when removing dont loose the copper or alloy seal washer, allways warm the engine first,to help drainage of oil ,and replace with quality 15/40w motorcycle engine oil, semi synthetic never use car oil.

Would the fairing parts of a 2006 kawasaki ninja 250 fit a 2005 kawasaki ninja 250?

Yes I do believe they do. Try going to Powersportseast.com Look in the shopping section on the left of the homepage. You will want to use the parts fische and load the info for your bike. It allows you to see what the dealer parts counter can see. See if this helps. I'm pretty sure the 250 ninja really didn't change until 2008 when it got the BIG overhaul

2008 ninja 250 engine oil looks green color

Just replace the oil, its cheap enough to do and costs less than rebuilding the engine.
the white foam on the oil cap is normal its just fine water particals built up, change the oil and take the bike on a run.
so does the bike run fine with the jet kit and exhaust change ? you dont explain your self well.

I changed the oil and filter in my 2007 kawasaki

you probably have a leak! It is possible, (depending on what type of oil you put in)
that the oil dissolved the gasket, or removed sludge from an existing hole, causing it to open. but if you dont have any oil spots..well....thats a whole nother story.
terribly sorry!!
i hope this helps in some way!
