My dad gave me his 2008 CBR125. I fell off in the rain on a round about. No visible damage other than a scratch on the exhaust, however, when the bike is running only the headlight works.

It sounds like a fuse has blown when the bike fell.

The fuse box should be located either under the tank or under the seat near the battery (normally a black box about the size of a cigarette pack.

Failing that, I would check the connections to the back of the speedo panel.

You have to remember most of these cables are plugged in, so a sufficient whack from the fall could loosen the connections.

Lights dim when rpm increased

Voltage issue. With the bike running, remove the negative terminal off of the battery. If the bike stops, it's the alternator. If it doesn't, have the battery tested. Possibly dead cells in the battery. If that still doesn't work, let me know the model year and we can go from there...

I was told by a mechanic that there was no restriction in the exhaust or in the variator, wheres the restriction then?

Usually the CDI. If you have meet the requirements to operate the bike without the restrictions, then the dealer would be glad to change out the CDI, etc. It is not that costly.
Then you can see the benefits from changing pipes, sprokets, etc.
Hope this helps,

JP

CBR125 sounds like cack in the rain.

maybe its just a guess that your front tire is throwing a lot of water up inside the engine near the exhaust collector or something.
