You have probably sorted this out by now, anyway its easy to say replace in reverse order, so i wont,
you dont say what bike it is fitted to, i would first sugest you have a look at the undeside of the seat, you want to observe at the front of the seat, you will find a forward facing lug of plastic, (if your seat is plastic) around the tank area," on the frame you should see a cross member that the tank itself bolts to", the plastic lug should fit under this first, holding up the rear of the seat slightly, slide the lug under the crossmember untill it is forward as far as it will go then lower the rear of the seat into place you should hear a clicking noise as the seat locks into place WARNING MAKE SURE THE BIKES KEYS ARE IN THE IGNITION AND NOT UNDER THE SEAT AT THIS POINT. Seats do varey and some have more than 1 front fixing, some are made from steel, some hinge, and some bolt instead of locking, some have obscured bolts behind panels, and so on, ask yourself how easy did it come off. if you are still having problems with this seat contact me with make and model and i will do my best to help, good luck and happy motoring, paul

How to put on the seat of a 2003 buell lightning XB9S motorcycle

Make sure the TOOL KIT IS NOT IN THE WAY (if you still have it) and that the battery IS THE CORRECT SIZE. Again, put the front down FIRST, and push toward the front of the bike then put the rear down and pop it onto the legs.

Bicycle seat fell apart

If you don't have a local bike shop to reassemble your seat or sell you a new one, you can probably find one to fit at Walmart or Target. A good bike shop will often give you one of better quality than you can buy at a department store, because many cyclists replace the seat with one that fits their bottom when they buy a new bike.

How can i remove seat off xjr 1300 if seat lock doesnt work ? any ideas without breaking seat etc

If im right your seat pop switch is on the tail and you should be able to get to the back of the switch by going up underneath the tail. You may have to remove some of the plastics but you should be able to find the cord that goes to the relase. Grab the cord with some needle nose pliers and pull it should pop right open. I would advise hooking something up to the cord with a small handle so you dont have to go digging for cord and your pliers everytime you need to open the seat. I hope this helps and good luck

1995 Honda motorcycle Nighthawk 250 How do I remove the seat?

On the gearshifter side of the bike, in front of the rear turn signal is a lock and loop thingy. That is for locking the helmet. But, if you turn the key as though you are going to lock the helmet, and push a lever next to it, the seat will unlock. I believe you move the lever towards the front of the bike. The key will stay in the lock when you are in this mode. Give the seat a pull on the passenger strap. The seat will pop off. Put back on by looking under the seat when reinstalling it. You'll put it back on by putting the drivers end of the seat first, then the passenger part.
