Just inside the frame from the battery, there's a "jackbolt" that raises and lowers the battery tray. Turning the bolt counterclockwise lowers the battery tray and vice versa. You must loosen two bolts on the right side of the frame just behind the battery box between the battery box and the rear fender. Once the battery is lowered, you'll be able to get the top cover off and disconnect the battery cables. Disconnect the negative first when taking the battery out. Connect the negative last when installing the battery.

Good Luck

2007 dyna super glide ignition switch is loose

So, is it a 2006 or a 2007????

Here is how to remove and replace the particular ignition switch. With that knowledge you should be able to tighten or replace loose fasteners as well.

IGNITION SWITCH for 2007 FXDWG, FXDC Models

First remove seat and then disconnect the negative battery cable and put some tape over the end or otherwise ensure it is insulated such that it could not touch any bare frame part or the battery negative terminal. Next remove the two fasteners that secure the instrument panel to the fuel tank and remove the panel noting the position and colour of the switch wire connectors and disconnect the wires. Then remove the four switch mounting screws and replace the switch. Then reconnect the switch wire connectors in their original positions and re-install the instrument panel with the two instrument panel installation screws and tighten the acorn nut to 18-24 in-lbs or (2.03-2.71 Nm). Then reconnect the battery cable and install the seat and check to ensure that the seat is firmly and properly in place.

What holds the battery cover in place on a 2002 dyna super glide

On most Dyna models, the battery tray raises and lower and simply traps the battery cover between the battery and the frame. Look on either side of the battery box. There may be some bolts on each side. There should be two bolts that "lock" the battery box and one that raises and lowers the box. You may have to remove the seat to get the cables off the battery or access the bolt that raises and lowers the battery. All my experience with the Dynas has been on 1999 and earlier models.

I need to remove battery from my dyna sport fxdx 2002 , the cover up is fixed with the bolt of cable battery ? it's so difficult to remove the bolt on cable someone can help me ?

On the older models this is how you remove the battery. I doubt Harley has changed much but if they did, this may help.

Remove the seat. Just behind the battery between it and the rear fender on the right side of the bike, there are two bolts. Loosen the bolts but don't take them out. Look inside the frame behind the battery and you'll see a "jack bolt". Turning the bolt counterclockwise will lower the battery tray allowing you to get the top cover and surrounding cover off. Then you can get to the battery connections easily.

I hope this helps.

How do I remove the seat on a 2002 Supe Dyna Glide?

Remove the screw from the rear seat bracket.

Slide seat to the rear of the motorcycle and lift the seat. There is a tab that secures the seat to the frame under the front of the seat.

The strap can remain in place and slid to the lower front section of the seat. The seat can be slid thru the strap.

How can I remove the seat on a 2002 HD wide glide to get to the battery?

Best as I can remember, you take a single bolt out of the back of the seat, lift the rear of the seat and pull to the rear.

How to change battery on 2001 dyna super glide

heres how its done
remove the seat , then battery neg. cable at frame, positive at terminal, then feel around the outside of the box - there is a rear lower bolt and an upper bolt - - this will cause the battery tray to swing down when they are removed. Orient the new battery same as the old one... reverse the process..... thats it
