How many litres of oil does a 2007 Yamaha Roadliner take?? Thanks Guy

The manual says that the bike holds 5.18 US quarts WITH a filter change. I change the filter with every oil change. If you don't intend to remove the filter, make sure you know your fluid capacities.

The instruction calls for putting in half the oil - 2.6 quarts - into the bike (make sure you replace the filler cap!), starting the bike and giving it a few revs to circulate the oil. Shut off the bike and add the rest of the oil.

Just installed new seals need fork oil capacity and best type to use bike has 4500 miles

Damper oil is traditionally a fairly light grade of straight mineral oil; SAE 20 or 30 is typical but people have their preferences and sometimes with good reason and I have heard of all manner of oils being used from auto transmission fluid to engine oil.

Your bike specs should tell you what oil and how much is recommended for your bike or any motorcycle parts department or repair shop.

What is the oil capacity of the 2006 roadstar silverado?

The Road Star takes 4.3 qts which is 4.07 liters.

In my experience, MOST Yamaha engines have the oil capacity stamped either near the oil filler cap, or if it has one, near the fisheye inspection glass.

The best advice I have seen to date states the following: Having replaced and tightened the drain plug, remove the dipstick and puur in half the oil. Note that this bike has an oil tank, so having added 2 litres or so, put the dipstick back in and tighten it. Start the bike and allow it to run for around 15 seconds to allow the oil to pump from the oil tank to the engine crankcase. Shut the bike off and add the remaining oil before replacing the dipstick again and checking for leaks.

Hope this helps. Please rate this solution

Just got a 02 road king. first 88 inch motor. were do i check and fill motor oil. is the motor and trans oil the same?

The engine oil tank is on the bottom of the transmission. On one corner of the transmission there is a large 2" diameter cap with knurling on the edges. Pull this out and you'll see the oil dipstick. Check the oil with the bike on the side stand. Lower mark is FULL COLD, upper mark is FULL HOT. do not overfill. Capacity with filter change 3 quarts.

The transmission oil is separate from the engine oil. On the right side of the bike just behind the exhaust system is the chrome clutch release mechanism. It has a plug in it that takes a 7/16" Allen or Hex key wrench to remove it. With the bike standing straight up, the oil level should be between the two marks on the dipstick. Capacity 20-24 ounces

The primary also has oil in it. With the bike standing straight up, remove the round "derby" cover. Inside is the clutch assembly. You'll see a bright ring around the clutch assembly with the dark clutch spring inside. Fill the oil just until it touches the lowest point of the dark clutch spring. Do not overfill. Capacity, 36-42 ounces.

Good Luck

Service details for a suzuki gsx1400 oilcooled engine

I think you mean a VS1400 or a VS1400GLP. I don't think there is a GSX1400. Go to the site below where you can see a parts diagram for your specific bike. You will select the actual brand, year, model, etc., once you go to the site. Part numbers and prices are also shown. You can order parts from this site. In the event no price is shown on a particular part, the part is not in stock. www.babbittsonline.com/pages/parts/viewbybrandand/parts.aspx

First, check and , if needed, change the spark plug(s), and oil. Always use the stock spark plug for your particular bike. Use 10w40 motor oil in the gear box. Don't use any synthetic oils, oil marked "EC", or oil with "special" additives. Change the oil filter if your bike has one. Changing the oil acts as the "filter" in bikes that don’t have an actual filter. Lubricate the chain. Lubricate the control cables with liquid graphite, ( Lock Eze ). Make sure the tires have adequate pressure. Check the spokes and snug up any that are lose. Aim the headlight and check all functions of the bike, kill switches, brakes, etc.

How about a top rating on this solution? Thanks!

What oil fits best my bike?

Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell. 10w40 is what goes in the engine. I am not familiar with the Cagiva brand motorcycle, but you probably have an oil dipstick on the end of the oil filler cover. Fill the gearbox until the oil is mid-point in the indicated range, probably 3 quarts will do.

Change the oil filter also, (assuming the bike has one). Recheck oil level after running the engine for a minute. This allows the oil filter to fill up. Often the oil capacity is shown right next to the oil filler hole. If there is no dipstick and no oil capacity information at the filler hole then best to contact the dealer and ask.
