Hi, i beleive you have spent alot of money on this scooter, and for not much more you could have bought another machine, it sounds to me like the problem is with the electrics, as you say your mechanic has instaled a switch to cut of the power from the battery when the bike is not in use, this should not be the case as when your key is turned off there should be no drain on the battery at all, so i would sugest instead of fitting a switch, find out the reason for the battery drain and correct the fault, if you have a drain on the battery this may be a contributary factor in the poor starting, normaly modern bikes like yours require no opening of the throttle while starting, the whooing sound you mention could be the starter throwing out,and not engaging, because of the batteries low state. recharging the battery as many times as this is not good for the battery i would sugest obtaining a new battery from another agent, put the battery on the bike yourself, when you conect the battery leads with the key turned off you should conect the red posotive wire first, when you conect the earth neg wire to the battery as you touch it on the terminal you should have no power drain at all, power drain would be identifyed by a spark when conecting the lead, the more powerful the spark the heavyer the drain, care must be taken while doing this as a battery can explode if no spark is evident then there is no power drain, if a power drain is found then you should disconect things 1 at a time until you find the sorce of the fault, dont spend any more money unles you know it will rectify the fault.
