WINDSHIELD/HEADLAMP NACELLE (FLHR/C/S) 2.31

WINDSHIELD REMOVAL
Standing at the front of the motorcycle,

use a finger to raise the wireform latch springs on

both sides of the windshield.

2. Gently pull on the top of the windshield until the upper

notches on the windshield brackets are free of the upper

grommets.

3. Carefully raise the windshield until the lower notches are

free of the lower grommets.

4. Remove windshield from motorcycle.

WINDSHIELD INSTALLATIONTo avoid scratching headlamp nacelle or auxiliary lamp

bracket, be sure that all four notches on the windshield

brackets are firmly seated on a rubber grommet.

1. Standing at the front of the motorcycle, carefully insert

the windshield brackets between the headlamp nacelle

and the auxiliary lamp bracket. Lower the windshield into

position until the lower notches on the windshield brackets

are seated on the lower grommets.

2. Gently push the top of the windshield toward the rear

until the upper notches fully engage the upper grommets.

3. Push down on the wireform latch springs, so that they

overhang the rubber grommets. If some adjustment is

necessary, loosen the retaining screws and rotate the

latch springs into the proper position.

NACELLE REMOVAL (FLHR/C)

1. Remove the windshield. See WINDSHIELD REMOVAL

on this page.

2. Remove the Phillips screw at the bottom of the headlamp

door (chrome ring). Remove the headlamp door.

fairing screw reaching in below the left side of the

fairing cap. Turn the handlebar to the left and

remove the fairing screw below the right side of the

fairing cap.

d. Tilting the outer fairing toward the front, squeeze the

two external tabs to remove the wire connector at

the back of the headlamp assembly.

place, the windshield may fall to the floor if not removed.

Door handle broke

can you open from the inside, its the only way you going to get to sort this, failing that you may need to get a new door card and rip the one off the door at the top corner near to the lock latch and split the plastic and pull the door pin inside to open then take the door card off. sometimes you can do it with out braking the door card but would not say it will not brake. inside there is a plastic clip that the handle go's on then another bar to the lock. this is designed to snap if some one trys to open the door with force.failing that the handle part can snap where the bar fits to it. that you would need to change the handle.

I am looking for a new rounded handle bar that you use to push the stroller along with. The foam on my one is damaged

unfortunately I believe you have to buy a new chassis jus for the handle bar. The best way is to just buy a handle bar cover for the handle bar. That will cover the damage and also protect it from further damage.

Right hand handle bar has slight movement

Are the forks bent in any way? slight dents will cause bars to not tighten as will over tightening the allens on the bars. Remove the allen clamps that go around the fork and check for damage. If you need to remove be careful as to how you remove throddle cable and grip. Allens or screws and label. Then you can raise the bar over the end of fork. My bet would be a striped tread or dent and not the drop bar.

Changing the handle bars on a harley

If it's a simple swap out, meaning you aren't changing switch housings and stuff, it's not difficult to do. What is probably going to give you a problem is wire and cable lengths. Naturally, if your bars are taller or wider, you'll need longer wires and cables. If the bars are shorter or narrower, shorter wires or cables. If the wires are too long, this usually doesn't pose a problem, simply wad the excess wire up and hide it somewhere. If the cables are too long, you'll need to figure out the lengths that you need and probably order them aftermarket. Good Luck.

Handle over the big wheels

Hi,

To move the handle bar (either for folding or to change into the off-road mode) push the small white button in (located on the inside of the handle bar) and pull both triggers toward you (also located on the inside of the handle bar - on either side) This will enable the handle bar to move.

I hope this helps.
