From the drawing that I'm looking at, the transmission is drained by removing the drain plug on the right rear of the oil pan. The other drain plug is for the engine oil and it appears to screw up from the bottom of the pan on the right side. If you have changed the engine oil, you know which plug drains the engine oil, it's the other one.

Good Luck
Steve

Water in tranny drain fluid and put in new, autozone gave me wrong fliud drain again but now it jerks bad in gears?

mixing fluids can cause sludge build up, the jetking if from two problems 1) lack of lubrication due to sludge 2) lack of pressure due to a clogged filter. you need to flush the fluid from the transmission with new clean fluid and repace the filter on the tranmission, it should be located in the trransmission pan near the return line from the radiator.

HOW DO YOU CHANGE ATF OIL ?

You need to pull of the transmission pan to drain the fluid. Then you need to clean up the pan to transmission mating surfaces and install a new gasket or RTV silicone (most mitsubishi's use RTV). Next bolt the pan back to the tranny. If you use RTV make sure and let it setup(usually about 1 hour) before you put the new fliud in the transmission.

You may also want to replace the filter while the pan is off.

Need to know how to change oil in 2000 dyna low rider-what kind of oil to use and -how to change transmission fluid and what tranny fluid to use

There are two plugs on the bottom of the transmission, one for the engine oil, one for the tranny lube. The engine oil drain is the one that is closest to the left front corner of the oil pan. The other plug is the transmission.

The engine requires three quarts of oil, the tranny takes 20-24 ounces of oil.. Check the engine oil with the bike on the side stand. There are two marks on the dipstick. The upper mark is the "FULL HOT", the lower mark is the 'FULL COLD" mark. Keep the oil level between these two marks and do not overfill.

On the transmission, on the right side of the transmission, you'll see a chrome clutch release cover. It's behind the exhaust system. There is a plug that takes a 3/8" Allen or Hex key to remove. Check the oil level with the bike standing straight up.

As for what lubricants to use, I always use nothing but Harley-Davidson oil. 20W50 Syn 3 oil in the engine, transmission, and primary on 2000 and later model bikes. However, you can use other oils such as Amsoil, Royal Purple, Mobil, Motor Factory, and many others. Synthetic or petroleum based, your choice. Check the website of the manufacturer that you wish to use.

Hi,How do I change the transmission fluid in my 03 Ford Windstar van and what parts do I need. Thank You.

For some unknown reason no one seems to put drain plugs on transmissions. You have to loosen the bolts holding the inspection plate on the bottom of the tranny and try and do it in such a way as one corner lower's first to drain the fluid, it will still be very messy. You can buy a transmission filter and new gasket at any parts store they should also be able to tell you how many quarts of fluid you will need. I don't know how many the Windstar takes but I would ask them first, I've had some cars take only 4 quarts and 1 that took 16 quarts. You refill it through the tranny dip stick.

Changing transmission fluid on '02 FXDL

remove the drain and fill plugs
inspect o-rings for tears
after fluid is drained, reinstall drain plug and tighten to 14-20 lbs
fill tranny with Harely Trans fluid - 20-24 OZ until dipstick shows full with bike upright.

The filler plug is tightened to finger tight
